BRINLEY.
I couldn't place the look on Thomas's face. Or should I say, Xander? I cannot believe he has lied to me. No wonder he didn't want anyone to know I was his mate. He was ashamed of me like I had thought all this time, and he never once tried to tell me the truth.
I can't believe this.
How could I have been so stupid? I told him I loved him, thinking I knew him, but I was wrong.
"508. Bow your head now," Kyle said, narrowing his eyes at me.
"I will not bow my head to lying, no good king," I said, not breaking my gaze with Xanders. Xander stiffened but said nothing.
"Hopefully, he will kill the half-breed," I heard Kelsy mutter under her breath. I shook my head, finally breaking eye contact with Xander, who had said nothing this entire time. I looked at Kelsy and frowned.
"I don't know what I ever did to you, Kelsy. But you have hated me since day one. So, yes, I'm half-breed and a mistake. But I'm Dad's mistake, not yours. Do you want to know how many times I saved you from getting the beating? A LOT! Haven't you ever wondered why he didn't hit you?"
She scowls, "I was his precious baby girl, that's why,"
I shook my head, "Ryder would sneak into your room, and he forgot his shirt one day in the hall. Dad was furious and said he would kill you and the boy both. I told him it was me, that I had a boy in my room. He beat the crap out of me simultaneously, yelling at me that no boy would want me. It was only a good time for them. He said no one would ever want a mistake like me."
Kelsy furrowed brows in deep thought, "The one night you hurt so bad that you couldn't walk for three days. Mom and I had to bathe you and feed you and clothe you. So that was because of me?"
I nodded. "But, It was worth saving you. You're my sister, and I wouldn't have let him hurt you." Kelsy's eyes glossed over, and a few tears fell from her eyes. "I had no idea. I was so mad at you because I had to take care of you. Even then, I did it poorly,"
"It's okay. You didn't know." Kelsy pursed her lips, "I knew he beat you. And I didn't say anything."
"Kelsy, it was a long time ago. I have forgiven him for everything." Kelsy frowned but said nothing.
"508, we need to talk," Xander said, clenching his jaw. I glared at him. Alpha king or not, he's a liar.
I shook my head, "We have nothing to talk about. You lied to me, and to top it off, my best friend is in love with you. Now that I know your liar, I want nothing else to do with you." I pushed past him and ran back to the kitchen.
Julia was sitting rubbing her feet, which looked like watermelons. I stood on the island entirely out of breath. Julia raised her brow, "You okay?" I shook my head.
She frowned and opened her mouth just as the door opened and Xander walked in. Her face lit up when she saw him, "Xander, baby, this is my friend..." He puts his hand up to silence her and strolls over to me. His eyes had so much rage and anger in them, and he grabbed me roughly, throwing me over his shoulder, and walked out of the kitchen.
I was kicking in, screaming at him to let go but to no avail. His grip only tightened around me.
"Let me go," I say, punching his back with both hands. A hiss of pain escaped my lips, and a stinging sensation spread across my butt.
