chapter 15 novel The Auction

Mr. Craig POV

Tonight after the auction I am ending these auctions. I will turn everything over to Lila. I will tell Jayne everything and come clean. I will be honest with Tatina about everything wrong I have done, Hopefully, she will forgive me and allow me to love her. Something about her makes me want to do right. I have not been right since I lost Julie. I started these breeder auctions and now, Now I know how wrong I was. I was so wrong.

Knock at the door.

"Mr. Craig, the three are in the basement. I am getting them prepared. I will send you an email in about an hour with all the information," Lila says.

I acknowledge her. I need out of this. She leaves.

Losing Julie pushed me over the edge. I became something I should have never become. I became a crazy person. Tatina in a single moment has brought something out of me that I forgot existed. Even if she doesn't forgive me at least I will be free of all this. I will be myself again. I hope Tatina and Jayne are having a good time. Maybe tonight when all of this is over I will join them in the city.

Jayne POV

Tatina and I settle into our hotel. I almost forgot how beautiful this hotel is. The last time I was here was with Julie.  Now I am here with Tatina. She is a breath of fresh air. I hope she brings out the good in Craig again. He was such a good man. He has become distant since we lost our precious Julie.

"Tatina, I was thinking we should go for a walk and then grab some food," I say to her as she unpacks her things.

"Sure, I am starving," she says.

She only has a few things. I will change that for her on our little trip. I am going to take her shopping. This girl is going to have a fabulous wardrobe when I return her.

"Let's go get a drink first," I say to her.

"Sure. No-fuss from me," Tatina says.

"Let us go get something fried and bad for us," I say to her.

"Sounds fantastic," she says.

I unpack my things. I slip out of my heels and into some comfy shoes. No way am I walking in heels. I hope she has comfy shoes. I pull my hair up into a ponytail. "I am ready. You?" I ask her.

"Yes. I have been ready," she laughs.

I grab my purse and out we go. We head out of our room and to the elevator. We rush into it giggling like school children. I pull her close and hug her. "You are going to have a great time miss," I say to her.

"I think so," she says.

We exit the elevator and head for the lobby. The lobby is the same as it always has been. Old brick and southern charm. The purples and greens decorate the lobby with street signs from all over the city. It is a unique blend. One thing about this city there is always a unique blend of everything. The food and the culture are beyond unique. We exit the lobby to the street.

"Where to first?" I ask her.

"A drink I guess," Tatina says.

"I completely agree," I say.

We walk a few blocks to a bar on the corner. The good angel bar. "This is new," I say.

We go in and find a seat at the bar. "Have you ever been to a bar before," I ask her?

"Nope. This is a first for me," she says.

"Okay let's get a hurricane and we can chit-chat about everything that has happened since you got in your new home," I say to her.

I order for the both of us.

"The bartender is adorable. Don’t you think?" I ask Tatina.

"That he is," she says.
