It's already quite late but he still takes me to eat. It's not a very fancy place but I couldn't care less. He helps me get out of the car before leading me in.
It's quite warm inside and seeing him take off his jacket, I am struck with the same urge.
"Let me help you," He mutters as steps behind me closely and tugs my jacket off. I don't miss how he makes sure to brush his fingers on the area where he gave me the hickeys. They have faded away considerably. Only a faint mark of their existence sits on my neck.
Next, we take our seats. He sits right beside me with one of his legs pressed against mine. Meanwhile, his hand is resting on his thigh, just close to mine.
"What would you like to have?" He asks me and I shrug, "Whatever you are having,"
He orders right away before turning his attention to me. The place is mostly empty. There are very few people here.
"Cybele..." He breaths, looking at me pensively, "What do you think about... us?" He asks finally. I notice how the air around grows tense instantly.
"Us?" I whisper, testing it to know how it sounds, how it makes me feel and how it's going to be like.
"You said you'd give me a chance. Now that I have told you almost everything... would you date me? Would you accept me as your mate?" I hear the urgency in his voice accompanied by so many emotions.
He is slowly leaning in, closing the distance between us. My heart is all of a sudden pounding in my chest. Is this it?
"If I say yes then will you mark me now?" I ask, noticing how close he is to me all of a sudden. I instantly place a hand on his chest to stop him from getting any closer to me.
One of his hands is resting behind me while my back is pressed flat against the wall. It's like he had cornered me but I do not feel scared. With him, I never did.
"No. I wouldn't mark you until you want me to. I'll never do anything that you don't want me to do," He states sternly, his eyes slowly starting to turn darker.
"So, are you asking for a relationship that humans have with each other?" I ask him, knowing that I may sound stupid but I want to make things clear. I don't want to be any more confused. I've already had enough.
"I am asking for much deeper but if that's how you want to start then it's okay for me as long as I can see you often and call you mine," The possessiveness is back. Instead of annoying me, it makes my stomach dip. I blush a deep red.
I an see the lust in his eyes when they drift to my lips. A frown climbs on his lips when my hand resting on his chest stops him from getting any closer to me. He's waiting for my response.
"What if I say no?" All of a sudden, I feel like teasing him, just to check how far he could get.
"You don't want me?" He asks instantly, looking somewhat hurt. The butterflies that had been missing before have already joined the rats in my stomach. A smile climbs on my lips as I drop my hand from his chest and close the distance between us.
"Thanks for coming tonight," He mutters against my lips. We are finally in front of my house and as soon as I had opened the seat belt, he had snatched me back to his lap. He likes having me there more than anywhere else.
"Am I forgiven?" I inquire.
"Yes, you are forgiven and you are mine," He chants for the hundredth time tonight. It still makes my heart flutter before he kisses me again.
"I have to go now, Jake," I tell him and he frowns deeply.
"When will I see you again?" He asks sternly.
"Next week?"
"Next week!" He scoffs, "Why not tomorrow?" He inquires sternly.
"Jake, I have assignments to complete. I will text you, how about that?" I try to bargain and he looks somewhat okay if not happy, "I'll call you," He grumbles with the same possessive tone, making me roll my eyes.
