Chapter 493 

Once they reached the hospital, Brittany and Hannah got out of the car one after another. 

Lionel and his father, Blake Chester, were waiting for them downstairs. When he saw Brittany, Blake’s eyes turned red with gratitude. “Good kid”, he said. 

Brittany walked over, hugged Blake, and then nodded at Lionel in greeting. 

After exchanging pleasantries, they all went upstairs together. 

Upon reaching the ward, Brittany realized Tanya’s health was far worse than she had imagined, so much so that she couldn’t even get out of bed 

When Tanya saw Brittany, her eyes reddened, yet she spoke in a reproachful tone. “I never said you should be told about this. You’re busy with your work overseas. It’s too much of a hassle for you to come back.” 

“Tanya, I’ve been wanting to come back, Brittany said, sitting beside the bed. Tanya and Blake had shown her more care and love than her own parents. Throughout her years abroad, she had always been worried about them. 

After comforting Tanya, the older woman hugged Brittany and, after a while, said, “Now that you’re back, you should stay here a bit longer” 

Tanya had also been thinking about Brittany over the years. 

She hadn’t mentioned asking Brittany to come back because she was afraid Brittany wouldn’t be able to let go of the past. 

“Okay, I’ll stay here with you,” Brittany agreed. 

Tanya’s health was poor, and she soon fell asleep. 

Hannah received a call from her company and left with Blake, Lionel wanted to take Brittany to the hotel, but the doctor called him away. 

Brittany left the hospital alone 

Just as she stepped out of the elevator, a child bumped into her leg and fell on his butt. 

The child’s body trembled slightly He seemed to be in pain, and his eyes reddened. 

I’m sorry Brittany immediately squatted down to help the child up “Kiddo, are you okay?” 

The child was extremely cute, dressed in a little black suit, looking like a little prince straight out of a fairy tale 

Brittany noticed his red-rimmed eyes and figured he must have been hurt from the collision 

She helped him up and dusted off his clothes. I’m sorry, are you feeling unwell anywhere?” 

The child replied softly, it doesn’t hurt.

Brittany pinched his cheek fondly, really liking this child. “Why are you alone in the hospital?” 

It was dangerous for such a small child to be alone without an adult around. 

The child pouted, “I came to see my mom.” 

He said his mom was in the hospital because she was not well and couldn’t be with him. 

He had wanted to visit his mom for a long time, but his dad wouldn’t let him 

“Where does your mom stay? Do you need me to take you there?” Brittany asked. 

She felt a bit saddened 

He was such a small child, with his mom in the hospital. He must be worried about her to come here all by himself.
