Nicholas had heard that although his family and the Lindberg family did not have an in-depth partnership, the elders of the two families knew each other well and had maintained a good relationship. This time Nicholas got back, he even swung by the Lindberg’s crib and paid a visit to Carter, 

He was tight with James, who was a good friend of Lucian. He and Lucian hadn’t really shot the breeze much, but they were not total strangers either. It was just that he found it a little difficult to get along with someone as aloof as Lucian, feeling that they weren’t in the same league and not willing to flatter to please. But he’d got basic manners, so Nicholas got up and said. “Fancy meeting you here, Luca.” 

Allison also got up, and shot a glance at Penelope standing next to Lucian. Once Penelope caught her glance, she got all edgy and clung onto Lucian’s hand Allison cracked a smile, she didn’t expect Penelope to be so guarded. Her eyes landed on Penelope’s bulging belly, “Ms. Flanagan, you’re eight months in, arent you? Just two more months and you’ll be popping take good care of yourself” 

Earlier that morning, she saw Grace hustling to Epic Entertainment to drop off some chicken soup for her. 

Penelope subconsciously touched her belly, and she was a tad nervous about what Allison might say. She decided to beat her to the punch, “What’s your game here? What’s it to you? Allison, I’ve known you since we were kids. I know what you’re up to, but you can’t lay a finger on my baby. This is mine and Lucian’s baby. If I’ve ever rubbed you the wrong way, you can blame me, but don’t hold it against my kid.” 

Once she was done, she seemed a little spooked and hid behind Lucian 

Nicholas frowned, “What’s that supposed to mean, Ms. Flanagan?” He had no clue about the beef between Penelope and Allison, but her words made him uneasy. 

Penelope didn’t know Nicholas, she thought he was some boyfriend Allison had roped in, so she didn’t give him the time of day. 

But she didn’t expect this bloke to be quite a looker, how did he end up with someone plain like Allison? 

Lucian frowned, and Penelope immediately clung to his arm, Lucian, let’s sit over there” 

Allison’s gaze never strayed onto Lucian, and the man just gave Nicholas a nod, then looked away. He and Penelope went to sit by the window. 

Lucian was eyeing the woman’s silhouette, but the smile on her face was for Nicholas, which annoyed him. 

Nicholas watched Allison, who didn’t seem phased or put off by the earlier kerfuffle. Nicholas bit his lip slightly. “That was Luca’s fiancee, she’s expecting so she might say something inappropriate. Don’t sweat it.” 

Allison chuckled slightly, looking up at Nicholas, “I know her better than you do, I know what kind of person Penelope is “Seeing the confusion in Nicholas’ eyes, she explained, “My mom used to be the housekeeper for the Flanagan family, and I grew up in their house” 

Nicholas frowned slightly, for some reason, hearing Allison casually recounting her past made him feel a bit uneasy, as if something deep down was being stirred 

“He watched as Allison ate her fruit salad, “If you like this, I can get you a takeout box,” 

Allison shook her head, “No need, it’s too expensive here, I can make it myself at home.” 

But Nicholas had already called the waiter and placed an additional order with some extra popular desserts,
