Thalassa remained silent, slumped against the car seat. Her body felt weak and her heart felt like it was submerged in salty water, aching and stifling. 

Upon receiving no response from Thalassa, Hertha didn’t press further. She took out a tissue, wiping away the tears from the corner of her eyes before resuming her driving. 

Midway through their journey, Thalassa suddenly felt sick. She turned a sickly pale and managed to utter, “Pull over…” 

Hertha quickly parked the car at the roadside. 

Thalassa unbuckled her seat belt in haste, got out of the car, and began throwing up into the nearby bushes until there was nothing left 

but bile. 

Hertha rushed to her side, supporting her and gently patting her back.
