"Lexi! Lexi! Lexi!" I heard my sister's voice from far away, I was in a dream

Knock knock

"Lexi aren't you going to work?"

Knock knock knock knock knock

"Lexi! Lexi! Lexi!" She thundered and that got to me

"Yes" I answered sluggishly

"Aren't you going to work?"

"I'm going. I will go"

"You are going to be late"

Last night came back to me and I checked the room instantly for Jason, who was gone

"Thanks for waking me up"

"You are welcome. I will be on my way now"

"Alright bye"

"Oh Lexi!"

"Yes"

"We're out of groceries, so make sure to get some on your way back home. The money is on the table"

"I might come home late. So maybe you should get it instead"

"You going out with Peter?"

"No. I and Peter are no longer a couple"

"What!? What happened?" Since when?"

"We just decided to break up since we are no longer feeling it"

"That explains why I've not been seeing him around. Since when?"

"Three weeks ago"

I set my alarm to ten am and went back to sleep

"Are you feeling better now?"

That question caught me off guard but I thanked God that I was able to give the right answer

"Yeah, thank you"

"You are welcome. And Mr Stokes said you should come to his office as soon as you are around"

"Okay thank you"

I went to my office to drop my bag before knocking on his.

"Yeah, come in"

"Good morning sir"

"How was your night?" He asked and smirked

"Great sir"

"You can go back to your office"

"But Jada told me you wanted to see me"

"And I have seen you"

'Asshole' I murmured "Ok sir"

"Oh, wait Lexi. I want the files you are through with in my office as soon as possible"

"Okay sir"

"And nice skirt" he added

"Thanks" I replied

I met up with Stephanie during lunch and ordered only Coke because I ate my breakfast late

"I heard you weren't feeling well"

"Wow! the rate at which information moves in this company is faster than a jet"

"True, and how are you feeling now"

"Better" I took some drugs and came to office as soon as I was strong enough"

"You want some?" She asked, passing me her fries

"No thanks"

"Is it true that Dixie is coming tomorrow?"

"Dixie? Who is that?"

"Mr Stokes's girlfriend"

"Where do you get that information from?"

"Stop being too professional. There is no secret in this company unless you pretend not to know"

I couldn't get over the fact that someone namely Jada was given out information about Mr Stokes to the other employees. Because if that wasn't the case, how could Stephanie knows about Dixie's appointment tomorrow afternoon and how did she knows about I being sick this morning.

I was walking angrily to Jada's office to talk senses into her brain when my phone vibrated inside my purse.

"Peter" I said quietly and wondered why he was calling me.
