The next day, as I was packing my suitcase, I received a text message from Jeremy.

"Vera, come to the amusement park in the city. I have a surprise for you."

I glanced at the luggage on the floor, hesitated for a moment, and replied, "Okay."

That amusement park was a place Jeremy and I used to frequent when we first started dating. It held so many of our memories.

Since I had decided to end this relationship, visiting it one last time didn’t seem like a bad idea.

When I entered the park, I started looking for Jeremy. Before I could spot him, a few staff members walked toward me, pushing an enormous bouquet of red roses.

"The man who ordered these flowers is so romantic. I heard he’s going to propose to his girlfriend," one of them said.

Their conversation caught my attention. Following their gaze, I saw Jeremy and Branka.

Jeremy was standing behind Branka, covering her eyes with his hands. He only let go when the bouquet was right in front of her.

Above the amusement park, the dark sky suddenly lit up with fireworks.

"Branka, I’ve always felt regret that I never proposed to you. I was afraid it would leave you with a sense of loss. So today, I’m making up for it."

Branka covered her mouth in surprise, her voice trembling as she said,

"Jeremy, I do. You’re the one I’ve always wanted to marry."

With that, the two embraced and kissed.
