"You cut ties with Evelyn, and I'll do the same with Wesley. We'll forgive and forget! Once Grandma's mourning period is over, we'll get married!"

Dahlia's words hit Charles like a tidal wave, stirring up emotions he didn't know he had.

Suddenly, it clicked. Seeing Dahlia and Wesley looking cozy in that video, it wasn't betrayal that fired him up—it was the feeling of being played. Watching Dahlia with another guy didn’t make him jealous at all. But if it were Evelyn?

Charles couldn't even go there. The thought of Evelyn close to another man was unbearable. Andrew’s words popped into his mind, hinting that maybe his heart wasn't where it used to be.

Looking at a tearful Dahlia, he felt a whirlwind of emotions.

"So, all this time, you never loved me. I was just a convenience for you!" Wesley's hand shook as he held his phone. He always believed Dahlia had real feelings for him, but it seemed her heart had moved on.

He was ready to forgive her, understanding the tough spot she was in. Deep down, he knew he couldn't hold a candle to Charles. With Charles, Dahlia would have the life she dreamed of, and even though it stung, Wesley accepted it. But he never imagined that to Dahlia, he was just a means to an end.

"What did you expect?" Dahlia snapped, her mind racing with ways to win back Charles’s trust. She couldn’t spare a thought for anything else. As long as Charles believed in her, she could handle anything.

"Love a criminal? Wesley, I can't even find the energy to hate you! You're the one who ruined everything!"

These words came from deep within Dahlia. Ever since Wesley stopped listening to her, he'd been a thorn in her side. Now, siding with Evelyn against her, how could she not loathe him? A man who couldn't give her what she wanted had no right to point fingers.

When Evelyn saved Wesley, she hadn't pressed him for evidence. But Wesley wasn’t willing to hand it over. She’d loved Charles completely once, and she could see in Wesley’s eyes that even if Dahlia wanted him gone, he hadn’t entirely lost hope.

So when Wesley suggested revealing his and Dahlia’s affair in front of Charles, Evelyn didn’t stop him. She knew he wanted to break Dahlia and Charles apart, maybe still hoping for a chance with Dahlia. But she understood Dahlia better.
