Charles instinctively furrowed his brow. This meant he could no longer mention Charlie in front of Grandma. He glanced sideways at Evelyn beside him, noticing her visible sigh of relief.

Charles' gaze darkened slightly. Just how long was she planning to keep Charlie hidden?

"If you glare at Eve one more time, believe it or not, I'll gouge out your eyes." Rosa came out just in time to see Charles giving Evelyn a cold look again. She was immediately infuriated. Raising her hand, Rosa smacked him hard on the back.

"Ouch!" Charles gasped in pain.

"Serves you right!"

Rosa said it served him right, but her eyes were filled with concern. She had forgotten she had just used the whip on Charles.

Evelyn cooked a few of Rosa's favorite dishes, making Rosa so happy that she ate an extra half bowl of rice.

After dinner, Rosa dragged Evelyn to walk with her in the garden.

Suddenly, the weather changed, and a torrential downpour began. Worried about Rosa's health, Evelyn took off her jacket and shielded Rosa. She didn’t accept Rosa’s refusal.

By the time the servants arrived with an umbrella, Rosa hadn't been touched by the rain, while Evelyn was completely soaked.

"Eve, hurry and take a hot shower. Don't catch a cold," Rosa urged her.

"Alright."

Next Monday, Evelyn was due to report to Carlisle Jewels. Worried about catching a cold, she went to Charles' courtyard.

She entered Charles' room to take a shower.

Rosa stood behind, watching Evelyn enter Charles' room without saying a word, her lips curving into a smile.

She couldn't wait for Evelyn and Charles to spend more nights together, hopefully resulting in a great-grandchild and making it impossible for Charles not to marry Evelyn.
