The Deadly Alpha novel Chapter 28

Chiding myself for not eating properly today, I forced myself to go into the cafe with Alpha as they all profusely apologized to us about the commotion they did before, Kayla and Kavin's heads were in the wolves field where they were all hung up so it was okay after all.

We sat with a serene expression etched onto our faces as the waiter took our order and Alpha made sure that he brings too much food for the baby, I was thinking too much into the pills mystery that my wolf reprimanded me and told me the baby was more important.

"Hey, Luna." A little boy said, it was the same boy Alpha took for a walk, he was refreshed with a new cut and a clean face along good clothes, we were right to put him in an adoption house, he seemed very happy to see us as he hugged me after his little greeting.

"Hello, Tegan, how are you?" I asked and he told me he was fine, he came to the Alpha and whispered in his ear as his eyebrows knitted at the news. He nodded as the little boy gave a small wave and walked to take orders since he worked here.

"God damn it," Alpha swore under his breath but I caught it with my werewolf hearing abilities, I took his hand across the table.

"What's wrong? What did he tell you?" I questioned in a rush.

"Our pack is getting suspicious about your curse, we can't let them know or they will rebel." He said in a hushed tone, blocking all the mind links.

The dread washed over me like a flood; I couldn't let them know, it was my secret and now the Alpha knew, we couldn't add in all the pack members, we had to take action.

I can help you with the curse. Kavon's words echoed in my head but disappeared after. He was dead and there was no use, we had to ensure their safety first and untangle the mystery of that pill.

I nodded with a stone hard face and we ate quickly when the food came, the coffee aroma in the cafe was irritating my nostrils so I told my mate to go out for fresh air.

We both walked with troubled thoughts through the peaceful Sterlight garden.

"Don't worry about it princess, we will find these pills, I linked the guards to search and the trackers too." He wrapped an arm around my waist as he got me closer to his right side as we strolled.

Crystal ran up to us, wide-eyed. "Alpha, you need to come to see this." The dark tinge of her aura said something serious as we both ran as we approached the terrifying scene.

The blonde lady that helped me was dead, laying on the ground among the goriness of blood. I clasped a hand on my mouth as another contraction came.

"Ugh!" I screamed as I put both of my hands on my bump, Alpha directly held me and ran using his speed and linking Crystal to bury the woman, I was squeamish and in a lot of pain.

The doctor injected me with a painkiller as my faint heartbeat slowed down and my eyes shut off.
