Zane stared at the doorway long after Mr. Calvin's figure had disappeared, before finally retracting his strained gaze.

Powerlessly sitting in the chair, he couldn't understand how such a joyous occasion had turned sour.

How was he supposed to explain this to his student?

Zane lifted his head, his face the picture of dejection.

At that moment, his phone rang from his pocket.

It was a call from Mirabella.

Holding the phone, Zane took a deep breath, suppressing all his emotions before answering.

"Professor, I've briefly organized the information from DO Group and will send it to your email shortly. You can follow my thoughts when discussing with their head."

On the other end, Mirabella's calm voice came through.

Hearing this, Zane felt even more bitter. After a while, he hummed softly, "There's no rush, you don't have to hurry."

"I always work efficiently." Mirabella raised an eyebrow, saved the document on her computer, and then opened her email to send the file directly, "Done, you can check it when you have time."

"Alright." Zane heard the notification for his email.

"Did your thesis pass the review?" Mirabella casually added.

After all, it was her debut work, so it warranted a symbolic concern.

Zane lowered his eyes and simply said, "It should be soon, don't worry, your thesis will definitely pass."

Mirabella nodded, not noticing anything off about Zane. Thinking of Cassie, she asked, "By the way, Professor, do you think any high school in Riverdale would accept a student who has been homeschooled?"

"Homeschooled student?" It took Zane a few seconds to understand, "You mean someone who didn't attend high school but studied at home?"

Mirabella touched her nose, "Yeah, something like that, but the person is a bit slow, I think any regular public high school would do."
