Kylie used to be meek. She was soft, kind-hearted, cautious, and vulnerable when she first returned to the Dale family.

Now, however, she was a completely different person. Not only did she slap Iris twice, but she behaved as if she had done the right thing.

Iris couldn't accept it. She had to come up with a plan as soon as possible. She couldn't let Kylie continue to act arrogantly and have her way just because she had some medical skills. Kylie must also suffer terribly for the physical injury and humiliation she caused today.

The police officers bowed to Kylie as she left the police department with a spring in her step. Logan noticed them coming out, and he immediately pulled the car over.

Before he got into the car, Samuel glanced at Iris. "I have to deal with something. Simon will take you to the hospital."

Simon nodded. "Okay."

The Bentley drove away, leaving nothing but its exhaust fumes behind.

"Damn it! Kylie is throwing her weight around because she had someone backing her up. All she had was some meager medical skills, and yet she kept Samuel wrapped around her finger all day long." Iris roared as she stomped her foot maddeningly.

Simon raised an eyebrow and sized her up. He said calmly, "You're a medical practitioner, too. She would've been out of the picture if you had what it takes to cure Mr. Vance Senior."

Iris was rendered speechless. She couldn't think of any good comeback to his cutting remark. She was fuming and had no outlet, so she glared at him.

"Are you sure you're Samuel's friend?"

Simon shrugged indifferently. He opened the car door and side-eyed Iris. He had always heard that she was graceful, poised, and dignified. Was she acting this way because she was forced into a corner, or was it because all of her qualities were nothing more than a facade?
