I saw how the gray wolf inquiring cocked his head while it looked at Clarina. Before he again looked into my eyes, he didn't seems quite as intimidating to me any longer, but I couldn't let myself relax yet, I keep standing protectively over Clarina, and glared at the gray wolf. For a long time we stood there, staring at each other, every time the gray wolf looked down at Clarina I growled, to make it understandable that she was mine. With one last thoughtful look at me, the grey wolf slowly backed down. With one last glance between me and Clarina, he ran into the woods. I keep standing protectively over Clarina for another few minutes, until I was sure it was safe, and then I stepped back slowly, and pushed lovingly at Clarina, to get her up. As soon as she stood up, I lay down on my stomach, and with my head made Clarina climb on my back. She looked a little unsure, but did as I asked for. I stood up slowly to make sure that she held tightly enough, I began to walk toward her home. Once again I stopped at the edge of the woods when we could see her house. I was very reluctant to let her continue alone, but if people saw a giant wolf like me, it would cause a uproar, so I lay down again, and Clarina crawl down.
"Thank you for protecting me Mathieu. It was not occurred to me that there were other wolves like you, a little foolish right? "
She self-deprecating said, and I cuddled her gently. A final check on our surroundings, and I pushed her gently towards her home, she look back over her shoulder and waved to me before she ran into her house. Only then I could once again relax.
Clarina's P.O.V
I stepped into the kitchen and started making dinner. It was my mother's late workingnight, so every Monday I was the one who cooked dinner. It gave a twitch in me as Benjamin put a hand on my shoulder. He had said this morning that he probably came home late today, because he should talk to his new boss, and presented correctly for the rest of the company. When I think about it, I don't actually think he ever told me what kind of company he works for. But it must be something important since he moved here for it. I looked over my shoulder and saw Benjamin look down at me before he obviously relaxed.
"Clarina, you remember what I said, right? You have to be careful out in the woods, not everyone you meet is friendly-minded, okay?"
I looked questioningly at him, why did he bring this subject up again, yes I had been with Mathieu, and met another wolf, but Benjamin couldn't know about that. But it was as if he knew every time I had been with Mathieu, but it obviously had to be my fantasy, because how would he know anything about it, it was mine and Mathieu's little secret, and I know that Mathieu at least not told it to Benjamin. I shook my head of my thoughts, the idea of Mathieu with his snout ring at the front door, to tell Benjamin that he spends time with his stepdaughter. I smiled at Benjamin, and said soothing.
"Yeah, I know Benjamin, I promise to be careful, and I always stick to places I know, but do not ask me to stay away from the forest, it's my getaway, for when I need to think."
Next day I slowly walked into the class for my last period, it was science and it was the first time I was meeting Simon since Saturday morning. I could feel how my stomach turned into a knot, and I really didn't want to go there. I liked Simon, and the thought that he might think I behaved like a slut upsets me. But I couldn't avoid him forever, so resolute I stepped into the classroom and went down and sat in my seat. Simon hadn't come yet, so maybe I was lucky that he had decided to stay away today. But no, a few minutes after he get in the class with one of his companions laughing, they both stopped when they saw me, and I could feel my anxiety rise. But none of them said anything, but just sat down. As soon as Simon sat next to me, he turned to me with a smile.
"What's up buddy, are you ready for our presentation today?"
He said. I began to breathe again, he wouldn't mention Saturday morning. As if he know what I was thinking, he quickly look around before he leaned closer to me.
"Clarina, about the party, you shouldn't feel embarrassed, I haven't told anyone that you spent the night in my brother's bed ... But I don't understand what happened. The morning after you looked like one with really bad conscience, who wouldn't have anyone to know, and Matthew looks heartbroken and his expressions closed before he change the topic of conversation. He does this every time I try to find out what happened between you two."
