Harvey's movements paused, and he looked surprisingly at Matthew. "Y-You wanna help him?"
He had long noticed Matthew and assumed he was from Woolfields.
According to his knowledge, the Woolfields townspeople would never help Kingston. That was also why they so brazenly came to his house and forced him to call off the engagement. He was truly baffled at that point.
Matthew stated coldly, "Yes, I'm helping him."
Marvey seemed to be in utter disbelief. "You… What are you even thinking? Are you sure you want to help this jinx?"
Marvey's reaction made Matthew think that helping Kingston—who did who knew what—was an act of moral injustice.
However, he couldn't care less about the details. "You don't have to care what I think. Just know I'm helping him!"
Marvey nodded, his expression increasingly menacing. "Nice. Very nice. Since you want to butt your head into this, don't blame me for what's about to come."
Following that, he ordered the two burly men, "You two, suppress Kingston while I finish this punk. Then we can continue with getting his thumbprint!"
He put down the ink pad and strode toward Matthew, sending threats with each step he took. "You still have a chance to run before I beat the crap out of you. Otherwise, you'll be crying in your fucking pants!"
Suddenly, a punch landed on Harvey's nose at lightning speed.
Retracing his punch, Matthew uttered coldly, "No, it's you."
Feeling a flash before his eyes, followed by a tingling sensation in his nose, Harvey touched it, only to find his hand covered in fresh blood the next second. Then, a wave of soreness hit him, prompting him to tear up.
Furious, he suddenly pulled out his dagger. "You… How dare you sneak attack me! I'll fucking kill you!"
At the sight of the dagger, Matthew became alert and unleashed a high roundhouse kick. A muffled thud sounded as the kick landed on Harvey's temple, plunging him to the floor with his dagger clattering against the ground.
The two burly men witnessed the scene and quickly released Kingston before charging at Matthew.
Seeing her brother at a disadvantage, Scarlett anxiously shouted, "Don't let him go! You can't let him off!"
Hearing that, Scarlett frantically fished out her phone and opened the bank application before making the transaction. Then, she told Matthew, "I did it. He'll receive it soon."
Meanwhile, Kingston propped himself up from the ground and saw a notification message on his phone. "I got the money," he told Matthew.
That was easy. Matthew lifted his leg off of Harvey's back. "Now that you've called off the engagement, you have no relation with Kingston anymore. Now scram!"
Harvey got up, gripping the wound on his arm and shouting at the two burly men, "Q-Quick, send me to the hospital! I might not be able to make it!"
At last, the four escaped with their tails between their legs.
Once they left, Matthew approached Kingston, asking, "You're Declan's son, aren't you?"
Despite receiving 300 thousand dollars, not a hint of joy was evident on Kingston's face. He remained indifferent, saying, "As I've said, Declan Wooler is dead, and you'll have to find him at hell's gate!"
At that point, Matthew couldn't help but frown at his attitude. Not only did he receive no thanks after helping him, but he received snarky remarks instead.
