Nobody paid him any mind.

Brandon had breezed past him into the office.

Kent didn't dare to pry further. He hit up the real estate agent online, handed off his requirements, and dove into his hectic workload.

As noon approached, the agent had already matched some property options for him and scheduled a property viewing.

Kent wasn't sure if Brandon would check it out himself or delegate it, so he didn't dare to make the call for him.

He glanced over at Brandon's office, noticing he was swamped.

Kent stepped up and knocked on the door. After a "come in," he entered and flipped his phone screen towards Brandon.

"Mr. Crawley, the agent's pitched a couple of places. Take a gander, see if any tickle your fancy."

Kent said, rotating the phone screen towards him.

Brandon took a peek – the phone displayed photos of two properties, both with a minimalist and classy simple-style decor.

"Which buildings are they?"

He asked.

Kent replied, "One's in building 11, the other in building 3."

When he mentioned "building 3," Kent caught a slight flicker in Brandon's eyes.

"The agent's asking if you're free to view them tonight. After work's a possibility."

Brandon nodded, "Let's lock it in for tonight."

He then handed back the phone to Kent, his gaze inadvertently catching the time on the computer – nearly twelve.

He was silent for a moment before picking up his phone and calling Sophia.

The call connected after a brief ring.

"Still busy?" he asked, his voice uncharacteristically gentle, which made Kent take a second look.

Brandon, holding the phone with one hand, had a serene face.

Catching Kent's glance, he gave him a faint look.

Kent got the hint, quickly packed up to leave, but not before reminding him, "Mr. Crawley, time for lunch."

"Go ahead."

Brandon responded, his attention already back on the call.

On the other end, Sophia's voice was as polite and distant as ever. "Not really."

Brandon asked, "Going for lunch?"

But unlike last time, Brandon didn't find a separate table. Instead, he walked over to them.

The group, who had been chatting and laughing while eating, instantly became busy adjusting their seats and went silent under the pressure of Brandon's commanding presence.

Cindy, well-aware of the intimidating vibe Brandon brought, instinctively clammed up as he approached. She scooted her chair closer to Sophia to make room for Brandon, but just as she had barely settled down, Brandon placed his tray in the space between her and Sophia.

Cindy was speechless.

Everyone else was just as taken aback.

Brandon, unfazed, pulled up a chair and sat down next to Sophia.

Cindy snapped out of it, scooted her chair back to its original spot, and deliberately widened the gap between her and Brandon.

Brandon ignored her and calmly turned to Sophia, "Didn't we agree to have lunch together?"

The smile on Sophia's face stiffened. "Everyone decided to come down together, so we just joined in."

"Mm."

Brandon simply responded, without getting upset. He picked up his utensils and, noticing the plain fare in her bowl, transferred the untouched fish from his plate to hers.

"You haven't been in the best health lately. Eat more protein to boost your immune system," he said.

Hearing this, Sophia and everyone else fell silent.
