Summary of Chapter 420 from The Indifferent Ex-Husband: Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate

Chapter 420 marks a crucial moment in April Sullivan’s Romance novel, The Indifferent Ex-Husband: Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate. This chapter blends tension, emotion, and plot progression to deliver a memorable reading experience — one that keeps readers eagerly turning the page.

Marian knew that Brandon would take Sophia's side.

As long as Sophia let the matter rest, Brandon would back off and stop breathing down her neck.

Right, as long as Sophia left it unsaid.

Marian suddenly felt a glimmer of hope. She mustered her strength to get up from the couch and staggered to the door, bursting out without a moment's hesitation.

She went to look for Louis first.

Louis had just laid down when a persistent knocking roused him from his drowsy state.

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he slowly got out of bed, unlatched the door, and opened it to find Marian, her eyes swollen and red from crying.

As soon as the door swung open, he saw Marian standing there, her eyes red and puffy from crying. On seeing her, Louis immediately felt a rush of concern, his voice softening to a tender whisper like one would use to soothe a child,  "Yoli, what's wrong? Did your brother say something to you again?"

Marian shook her head with tears in her eyes, "No, it's not about my big brother."

"Grandpa, would you come with me to apologize to Sophia?" she pleaded in a tearful, tender voice, "I wronged her, and I want to make amends."

Relieved to hear her intentions of apologizing, Louis nodded repeatedly, "Of course, we should definitely offer her a proper apology."

"Then, would you come with me?" asked Marian, "I'm afraid it won't seem sincere enough if I go alone."

Louis didn't hesitate a bit before agreeing, "Of course, I will come with you."

Marian glanced at Renata, who was basking in the sun on the balcony, and hesitated, "Could we bring Grandma too?"

A shadow of difficulty crossed Louis's face, "Your Grandma is not in the best health, I'm worried it might be too much for her."

"It's okay. I'll drive you there; we won't have to walk," Marian urged quickly, "Grandma has always liked Sophia and has wanted to see her, right? This could be a good chance for them to get together, and it might cheer her up."

Louis gave her a look.

Marian, feeling a bit guilty, let her eyes droop and lowered her voice, admitting her true intent, "Having Grandma there might make Sophia a bit more approachable. Martin told me that Brandon wants me to publicly admit my mistake and apologize. And if I do it publicly, my reputation and future will be ruined. It was just a moment of confusion."

"I do."

Marian quickly assured. She wasn't worried about not finding Sophia's place; all she had to do was ask Cindy.

Cindy had visited Sophia's home when she was sick.

Back in her room, Marian called Cindy to ask for Sophia's address, claiming she needed it for some work-related reason.

Marian was usually like a little sunbeam at the office, lively and straightforward, without guile, and Cindy, being similarly straightforward, did not give it much thought and immediately sent Sophia's address to Marian.

Looking at the address, Marian's anxiety eased slightly, only to return in full force at the thought of facing Brandon.

She had no idea if Brandon would be with Sophia or not.

The thought of encountering Brandon scared her.

After a lot of back-and-forth weighing her options, Marian made a call to Patricia.
