Ellinor pouted, “Alright, we’re just friends.” 

Hearing her bluntly state the fact, the man finally felt the thorn in his heart being pulled out. 

“Why did you lie to me?” he asked, disgruntled 

Ellinor felt a bit conflicted. She turned her face away, deliberately not looking at him. “At the time, I thought you and Patricia were a couple, and even had a child. So, I hoped you would stop pestering me. I didn’t want to be the third wheel 

The man snorted. “In your eyes, am I the type of guy who would find a third wheel?” 

Ellinor rolled her eyes. “Don’t judge a book by its cover! I’ve only known you for three months. How could I possibly know what kind of person you really are!” 

As soon as she finished speaking, the man made a move. Ellinor instinctively shrank back, afraid of being hit….

Theo pulled her hand, then gently pressed it against his chest.

Ellinor froze, staring into his affectionate eyes in surprise. 

They held each other’s gaze for a while, then she asked, “Mr. Blanchet, do you really like me?” 

The man suddenly leaned in, his tall nose brushing against hers. 

Ellinor could feel his heartbeat quickening, pounding against her palm…. 

He suddenly whispered in her ear, “Do I still need to answer your question verbally?” 

Theo rubbed his slightly stubbly cheek against hers, “I don’t know when it started, but whenever I’m near you, my heart races out of control. Tell me, isn’t that proof that ! really like you?” 

Ellinor’s eyelashes fluttered. She wouldn’t admit that the same was true for her, whenever she was near this man, her heart would pound uncontrollably, unable to remain calm and composed as usual 

The man sighed, “If I could control it, I wouldn’t want to be so flustered by you, you heartless woman! Stop running, you can’t escape!” 

Ellinor snapped out of it, and blinked a playful smile at him, “Theo, didn’t know you had it in you!” 

Theo raised an eyebrow, “Hm?” 

Ellinor shrugged and spread her hands, “You know how to sweet–talk! Whether it’s true or not, what you just said really made me happy!”
