ASHANTI'S POV.

“No.” I deny with my whole heart, shaking my head furiously. Tears burn at the back of my eyelids as I look at the man sitting in front of me. “No. That can't be true.” I rise from the bed and start pacing. “All this time you knew we were mates yet you didn't say anything?” My voice is a crying mess. The tears in my eyes are pooling down my face and my breaths are coming in too hard.

My entire body is shaking with anger and disbelief.

“Ashanti.” He calls, getting on his feet as well. “Baby.” He tries to touch me but I slap his hand away from my arm and shoot him a deadly glare.

“Don't you dare touch me.”

“I had a reason!” He says firmly and that only gets me more angry.

“What stupid reason? All this time, I thought you were hesitant about me because you didn't know I was your mate and there were several other candidates.”

“Are you trying to tell me you felt the mate bond as well?” He asks with his brows furrowed.

“Yes, I did. My wolf signalled me the first day I saw you in that room with Alina. Since then she has been singing it to me everytime we're together and all this time I thought she was tripping.”

“So, why didn't you say anything either?” He sounds annoyed. I stare up at him, stunned. “Yes.” He nods his head. “I'm not the only one at fault here. I hesitated with you and so did you with me.”

“Are you fucking kidding me right now?” I scream at the top of my voice. In tears. I sniffle and angrily mop my face with the back of my hand before slapping his face with another glare. “I did not hesitate. I was terrified! That day in the hallway, I almost lost my balance when my wolf gave me the signal. I couldn't believe it! You were the Lycan King and what was I? An ordinary Harem girl who had come to pleasure your men. How was I supposed to present such a claim to you? It was your place to tell me about our mate status because you were the superior one. But you didn't!”
