Chapter 201 A Sharpshooter
“Maren! It’s Maren!”
Just like the previous time Maren had turned up at her own academy’s gym, students from the Royal Military Academy instantly identified her.
“She came! Finally, she’s arrived!”
Of all the voices in the crowd, Daniel’s rang with the most excitement.
His long wait had come to an end–Maren had shown up at last.
“Who the hell are you?” Matthew asked, baffled that someone would dare to represent the Royal Military Academy right before his eyes.
“Apologies, sir. I’ve been traveling without pause and didn’t get around to reading your updates.” Maren dismounted the motorcycle, not sparing Matthew a look. Her words were directed at Daniel instead.
“No big deal. The schedule got bumped up without warning. I should’ve told you sooner,” Daniel replied, brushing it off casually.
For him, Maren’s presence alone was a massive boost. With her in the arena, the Royal Military Academy’s fate in the next round was practically sealed.
“I didn’t miss the whole thing, did I?” Maren asked, unbothered.
“Well, the first round’s already over, but you can wait for the second…”
“The first round’s still ongoing,” Morris cut in sharply, beating Daniel to it.
Daniel blinked in confusion.
Then Morris turned to the host and declared, “Our final student is ready to participate!”
“Understood.” The host wasn’t entirely sure what had just happened but went with the flow. The match had to
proceed.
“Stepping into the field now is the last competitor representing the Royal Military Academy–Maren Morgan!”
Maren!?
Daniel, Nadia, Wilbur, and the rest of their crew thought they’d misheard.
Wasn’t Morris supposed to be next?
“Lucky I came prepared,” Morris murmured to Daniel with a chuckle. “Sorry, sir, I took the liberty of putting

Maren’s name on the registration list instead of mine.”
So that was what happened.
“Morris! Why’d you list my sister without telling me?” Nadia snapped. She hadn’t imagined Morris would pull
off a stunt like that..
Even if Matthew claimed first place, she’d at least secure runner–up. But with Maren entering now, she could only get the third place.
“C’mon, I had no shot at winning anyway. I’d just make us look bad.” Morris shrugged.
Everyone understood that victory rested with Maren. Morris was simply filling a placeholder.
Nadia was boiling but couldn’t argue–Maren had earned her reputation.
Wilbur didn’t know how to feel about any of this.
But Maren couldn’t care less about them.
“Appreciate it, Morris.” By now, she had pieced together the situation. Morris had bought her just enough time.
“Hey, I asked you a question earlier. Are you deaf or just rude?” Matthew snapped at last. He was fuming over being ignored by Maren.
“What’s the hurry? I’ll deal with you soon enough,” Maren replied, yawning and stretching after her long ride.
Her poise, striking looks, and effortless aura seized the attention of the crowd in an instant.
“She’s stunning!”
“She’s dazzling! Who is that? I wanna shoot my shot!”
“Shoot your shot? She came with a dude, didn’t you notice?”
“Even her guy looks like he walked off a movie set!”
The bleachers buzzed with wild energy.
After a deep breath and final stretch, Maren stepped forward, took her place, and picked up the handgun.
“Sir, I’m prepped. Let’s begin,” Maren declared.
“Wait, is that beauty here to compete? She just stepped up for the Royal Military Academy. Is she enrolled
there?”
Maren’s dramatic arrival had completely thrown off the atmosphere..
But unlike the curious spectators, it was Alberto who looked the most excited. “She’s here! Finally!” He shot up from his chair, eyes wide.
“Alberto, is this the prodigy you told us about?” another judge asked, clearly intrigued.
“Without a doubt!” Alberto answered without hesitation.
“She’s just a teenager. You really believe she’s got the edge?”
Doubt hung in the air among the panel.

“A kid like that, beat Matthew? That’s just wishful thinking,” Trey scoffed.
But no one paid Trey much attention. Alberto watched Maren like a hawk, utterly transfixed.
“Let’s just sit back and observe,” said one of the others, now upright in their seat.
In the field, Matthew refused to move aside. He remained rooted, glaring at Maren. “So you’re here to challenge me?”
A woman planning to steal his win? Utterly laughable. The trophy was practically his, already.
“Challenge you? Please. I’m just here to wrap up my match. If you get beat in the process, oh well,” Maren said with a shrug.
Matthew had always thought no one could outmatch his ego, but Maren was on a whole other level.
She didn’t even acknowledge him as a threat.
“Alright then. Show me what you’ve got,” Matthew muttered, stepping back reluctantly, anxious to see what this woman believed she could pull off..
He had already nailed a flawless score. The best Maren could do would be a draw.
“Maren, ready up!”
“Three… two… one… go!”
With the referee’s signal, tennis balls shot skyward one after another.
All eyes were fixed on Maren.
She didn’t flinch. Raising her weapon, she fired smoothly, striking each one in mid–flight.
Every single ball was obliterated with surgical accuracy.
In half a minute, it was over.
“Ten points!” the referee announced.
While most competitors clenched their jaws or held their breath, Maren remained unbelievably calm throughout the whole event.
By the time the official announced her score, the crowd was still frozen in disbelief.
Unreal.
Faster than lightning.
Even Matthew hadn’t been that quick.
“She’s insane! Total marksman!”
“The Royal Military Academy’s on a roll! First the nine–pointer girl, now this perfect–ten queen–and she’s a knockout too!”
The stands erupted in noise!

Flashes lit up the place as phones captured Maren from every angle. The male students couldn’t stop gawking at her elegance and command.
Daniel and the others from Royal Military Academy heamed with pride.
Maren had exceeded every expectation
The only person not celebrating was Nadia. Her jaw clenched in defeat this was supposed to be her moment, and Maren had stolen the entire spotlight yet again
What made it worse? People were already comparing the two–calling her the sidekick and Maren the star. She
couldn’t stand it
Wilbur was caught in a storm of emotions. He was awed by her talent but stung by her indifference. The more brilliance she showed, the more unreachable she became.
And as if things weren’t messy enough, Sawyer had shown up too.
