“You’re alive? But you were supposed to have died!” Marcus murmured in disbelief.

Hadn’t the world believed Maren lost forever in that devastating explosion?

How could it be her?

How had she survived?

Realization dawned on Marcus in that split second. He recalled the substantial sum Frank had paid him to lead Maren into that deadly minefield.

But she hadn’t perished. And she had returned to exact her vengeance.

“Boss, please, you must understand! It was all just terrible mistake! I was forced–Frank threatened me. I had

no other option!”

Marcus‘ words were cut short as his sports car careened over the cliff’s edge, carrying him to his doom.

The sound of the crashing vehicle echoed against the mountain, metal colliding violently with rock.

Maren had stepped out of her vehicle, standing by the cliff’s edge and listening to the crash’s final echoes until

quiet returned.
