I didn't say anything further, just watched Abigail with a calm expression.

On the other hand, she was trembling with rage, her face pale as a sheet.

Just then, the door to the hospital room swung open, and Sophia walked in, carrying a thermos and some fresh fruit.

As soon as her eyes met Abigail's, Sophia's expression grew nervous, a hint of guilt flashing across her face.

Abigail frowned, clearly irritated. "What are you doing here?"

"I…" Sophia stammered, looking visibly unsettled.

She stood there, shifting uncomfortably, unsure of how to explain herself. After all, I was still legally Abigail's husband.

What would it look like for an "outsider" to be taking such devoted care of me?

Furious, Abigail stormed over to Sophia, grabbed her by the throat, and shoved her roughly against the door.

Her entire body shook with anger as she glared at Sophia, her voice dripping with venom. "Sophia, don't think I don't know what's going on in that little head of yours! Let me warn you. Whatever ideas you have, you'd better get rid of them now. Otherwise, don't blame me for what happens next!"

In her fury, Abigail's possessive nature blazed to the surface.

She clenched her jaw, practically spitting out the threat as if she'd have no hesitation in "removing" Sophia if she dared to have any feelings for me.

"Abigail, let her go!" I snapped, frowning at Abigail, feeling a deep, growing disgust at her behavior.

Only then did she release Sophia, who collapsed to the floor, clutching her neck and gasping for air.
