The Mysterious Substitute Luna novel Chapter 7

I was too embarrassed by myself to look at him in the eyes.

I kept my head down and stared at the floor. His left hand slipped across my clavicle and then unzipped my jacket.

The stench smell of dry blood rushed into my nostril as my blood-stained bra was revealed in front of him.

Suddenly, the memory of me killing Roger flooded back to me. I froze to the spot and had no idea how to explain.

"Blood... Smelled good."

His voice was still calm but had a tinge of proud. I was so surprised and couldn't tell what he was thinking.

But I know I can't stay silent. I must confess what I have done. Though it wouldn't happened if Roger didn't try to rape me. Still, I had no intention to kill him and I shouldn't have.

"I…I killed someone." I heard my voice was trembling and my blood was getting cold.

After saying that, I was very nervous and could not help wringing my hands together. I was afraid of his reaction to I was killed somebody. I didn't want my mate to hate me.

I kept my head down and waited for his response in silent.

He pulled my chin up and forced me to look at him in the eye.

"It's not your fault." He said in his special calm voice and with a reassuring smile on his face.

I felt relief instantly. But I don't know how he came to this conclusion. I mean, he didn't know who I killed or the reason why I killed him, did he?

"It was Roger, the Beta of our pack. But I didn't mean to…It just.. "

"I know."

He interrupted my explanation and brushed his thumb through my cheek to wipe away my tears.

His movements were so gentle as if he indeed knew what happened to me just an hour ago.

"It won't happened again, I promise."
