“Look at you, digging your own grave. If I were to forgive you, I’d be doing myself a disservice. Besides, I could care less about what you said about me, but you dragged Finley into it, and now that’s a whole different ballgame!” 

Yvonne swore that if she had known Finley was the man behind Samantha, she never would’ve said anything so offensive. But now, the problem was that she hadn’t known. 

So, everything she said was completely meaningless. 

Trying to explain herself, she said, “Samantha, everything I said earlier was just a misunderstanding. I swear, if I’d known your man was Finley, I never would’ve said those things! Can’t you forgive me just this once, since I’ve already apologized? I really know I was wrong!” 

Forgive her? 

Samantha turned to Finley, locking eyes with him. “Yvonne’s been throwing around all sorts of insults about you. So, what do you think? Are you willing to forgive someone who’s been trash–talking you?” 

Finley’s expression softened as he gently brushed a strand of hair from Samantha’s face. “What she said about me doesn’t bother me as much as what she did to you.” 

He paused before continuing, “So no, I can’t forgive someone who’s hurt you.” 

Samantha raised an eyebrow. “Then what are you planning to do?” 

A cold smile crossed Finley’s face. “Simple–ruin her. She’s so curious about what it’s like to be with an old man, right? Well, let’s grant her wish.” 

Yvonne’s face turned pale. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Shaking her head frantically, she cried out, “No, no, please!” 

“Mr. Dean, I’m about to get married! You can’t do this to me! I only said a few careless words about you. How can you try to destroy my reputation over that? You’re going too far!” 

Too far? 

Finley’s voice was icy. “Isn’t this exactly what you wanted? I’m just granting your wish, and now you’re saying I’m going too far?” 

He let go of Samantha and slowly stepped toward Yvonne, his presence suffocating. Reaching out, he wrapped his hand around her throat. “If you truly don’t want me to do this, then you better start watching your mouth and your behavior.”

His grip tightened, and Yvonne gasped for air, her face paling as she edged closer to passing out. But just as quickly, Finley released her, shoving her to the ground like she was nothing more than trash. 

“Get out.” 

Yvonne scrambled to her feet, shaking with terror. Without a second thought, she turned and ran as fast as her legs could carry her. 

Samantha, watching from the side, hooked her arm through Finley’s. “You’re really going to let her off that easily?” 

Finley raised an eyebrow. “Do I seem that easygoing to you?” 

“No, you don’t.” 

With a playful smile, he gently ruffled her hair. “Exactly. I told her to leave, but I never said I’d let her off the hook. I can’t stand anyone disrespecting you, especially someone like Yvonne. And let’s not forget, this isn’t the first time she has wronged you. Forgiving her? That’s not happening.”
