Samantha really didn’t know what to say. She hadn’t even gotten a good look at the thief’s face before he fled. Yet, there was something strangely familiar about his silhouette, as if she had seen him somewhere before.

Though his voice was cold, it was tinged with deep worry and affection. Samantha, sensing his genuine concern, playfully hooked her arm around his and pouted. “Finley, don’t be mad, okay? I was wrong. I promise, next time something dangerous happens, I won’t charge ahead. I’ll stay right behind you and let you protect me, alright?” 

Finley looked helplessly at Samantha in front of him and said, “You better keep your word. Don’t go running into danger like that again.”
