Noah’s jaw dropped. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Wait… how much did you say?” he asked, his voice tinged with shock. 

“One billion,” Samantha repeated calmly. 

Noah felt like she had lost her mind. Is she insane? I figured she’d ask for maybe ten million at most. But a billion? Samantha must be out of her mind if she thinks I’ll give her that. 

What makes her think I’d be willing to give her a billion? 

Where did she get the audacity to even ask? 

Noah couldn’t help but laugh, though his frustration was clear. “Samantha, I’m just asking you for a favor, not handing you my entire fortune. First, you ask for shares, and now you’re demanding a billion dollars. When did you become so greedy?”

Samantha chuckled. “Wow, your way of talking isn’t great! I’m not asking for money–I’m simply making you an offer. You know I don’t help anyone without compensation. So, if you can’t give me what I’m asking for, then feel free to sit at home and wait to die because Finley isn’t one to go back on his word. If he says he’s coming for your life, you can bet he’ll follow through. And if he says he’s going to take over your company, it’s as good as done. So, I suggest you reconsider my offer. If one billion sounds too high, I’ll gladly take ten percent of your company’s shares instead.”

Noah felt a wave of anger so intense it nearly made him dizzy. Samantha was a shark–there was no other way to describe her. 

“Samantha, can you ask for anything more ridiculous?” Noah snapped, his voice shaking with frustration. 

Samantha raised an eyebrow, completely unfazed by his outburst. “Well, if you insist, I could increase my offer to twenty percent of the shares. Or, if you’d prefer, we can make it two billion dollars. How’s that sound, Noah?”
