In the afternoon, after her class, Queenie walked out of her classroom and rushed towards the entrance of the school with a pink backpack.

“Queenie!” Kylie, who had put on the latest designer piece and dolled herself up, greeted Queenie with a warm smile.

Queenie jumped for joy and catapulted in the direction of Kylie when she saw her beloved aunt. She asked curiously, “Aunt Kylie! Are you here to pick me up?”

Kylie cradled the little girl in her arms and said, “Your grandparents are away for their friend's banquet, whereas your mother has a lot of things on her schedule. Therefore, I was given the task to pick you up from school.” “Oh...” Queenie responded with a nod. As Kylie detected the disappointed look on Queenie's face, she asked, “What's wrong? Is anything bothering you? Have you been reprimanded by your teacher for being naughty on again?"

Kylie figured out the reason behind the little girl's disappointment immediately.

Previously, Nathan headed over to the North right after they made their way back from Brimmopolis. He didn't even have the chance to return home with his family because he had to take the next available flight to the North.

It had been quite some time since Queenie last spent some quality time with her beloved father. Therefore, it wouldn't be much of a surprise for her to miss Nathan.

Kylie comforted the poor girl, “It's fine! Your father is currently in the North to protect the region from the enemies of the country! As soon as he's done with the things he has on his plate, he'll make his way back and keep you company.”

“Mmm!” Queenie nodded and pulled herself together.

After they sorted things out, Kylie brought Queenie and made their way back to the BMW that was parked nearby.

However, the moment she stepped out of the school, a multi-purpose vehicle pulled by in front of them.

A few vicious-looking men in suits marched out of the car. The person leading the vicious-looking bunch was none other than Faustus.

Faustus greeted the duo with an eerie smile,

“Hello, gorgeous! How are you?”

Kylie knew something was wrong with the vicious-looking bunch. She dared not let her guard down and confronted, “Who the hell are you? What do you want from us?”

“My name is Faustus! I'm here on behalf of the Goldstein family from Brimmopolis! Mr. Goldstein has sent me to pick Ms. Smith up to join him for a meal!”

Subconsciously, Queenie, Kylie, Faustus, and his subordinates turned and looked in the direction of the voice.

They saw a man with a well-built physique and an ordinary-looking face.

When Queenie caught a glimpse of the man's figure, she almost addressed him as her father, but she soon noticed the man had a completely different look as compared to his father's goodlooking face. The only thing they had in common was the well-built physique.

On the other hand, Kylie shared the same thought—she misperceived the man in front of them to be Nathan.
