The night fell, and streets lamp illuminated the city.

At the Davier family residence.

Clifford was drinking from a glass as he sat and watched the news in the living room.

It was a habit that he had been indulging for years.

His children used to accompany him to watch the news. However, things had changed, and he was all alone.

His face sank as he thought about his children.

The hatred he harbored toward Nathan was at its brim.

Finally, the news broadcast came to an end.

He absentmindedly reached for the remote control to turn off the television.

Right then, a skinny man dressed in a black cape appeared before him. The man lowered his head respectfully and greeted Clifford, “Mr. Davier!”

The man was Clifford's most mysterious subordinate, his trusted aide with unwavering loyalty - Spook.

Clifford asked impassively, “What's the matter?”

Spook reported, “Mr. Davier, I am here to report the latest movements of the Goldstein family and Nathan Cross, as per your request.”

“Speak,” Clifford ordered.

“The Mighty Rax sent his son, Sherman, and four elite fighters to settle scores with Nathan. But Sherman was held hostage in Channing by Nathan. The Mighty Rax was infuriated and sent his trusted subordinate, Kelvin Eriksen, and the Goldstein swordsmen to Channing, to save his son and to kill Nathan.”

“So, what happened next?” Clifford reached for his glass and sipped on his tea.

“In the end, Kelvin and Sherman died at Channing,” Spook reported.

Clifford froze momentarily and widened his eyes in disbelief, “What?”

“Nathan must have been infuriated from getting harassed by the Goldstein family time and again, so he killed them all.

“As of this afternoon, Kelvin and Sherman's body had been sent back to Brimmopolis.”

The news came as a complete shock for Clifford. “After being terminated as General of the North, he had been going around, looking for a breakthrough.

Clifford agreed and nodded. “Please follow up on this and watch over Rax and Nathan closely. Report to me once Rax has exterminated Nathan and every single one of his family members.”

Yes, sir.

Brimmopolis was abuzz with the news of the Mighty Rax coming out of retirement.

Even the President, Garrett Woods, had known about it.

Capital Garrison's Major General, Will Long, went to Garrett for advice, “President Woods, the Mighty Rax has called for his old disciples to head to Channing to exterminate Nathan and his family. Do we intervene in this matter?”

Garrett merely smiled and said, “No need. I think Nathan will be able to handle this minor matter. He is the Chief Military Governor after all.”

“Yes, I shouldn't have troubled myself with this.” Will nodded.

“These prominent families have been a pain in the neck to me. They've been exercising influence where they shouldn't and getting more brazen by the day. I might as well take this chance and let Nathan teach them a thing or two.

“Don't worry about it. Just let things run their course.

“Yes, sir,” Will replied.
