With a slight smile, Nathan recounted the events of Shangley's brat shoving Leah, breaking her left shin, and of Mrs. Shulz being unreasonable and assaulting the park employee.

Shangley frowned. After all, he knew his wife and son were troublemakers.

However, he was also a protective family man. Thus, he compromised his beliefs by pinning the problem back onto Nathan.

Who the hell is this guy? He is brazen enough to assault my wife! I think he's asking to be punished.

“First thing's first, you're wrong for assaulting another.” Shangley set his jaw stubbornly.

The crowd that had gathered felt compelled to voice out. “Mr. Shulz, your wife assaulted this poor park employee first. Shouldn't you have told your wife that instead?”

Shangley's eyes popped with rage upon that.

The crowd jumped in shock at the intensity of his gaze. Soon, they were quickly subdued into silence for fear of incurring his wrath.

After ensuring total silence, he turned to Liliana and asked arrogantly, “Do you work here?”

“Yes, sir,” Liliana hurriedly answered. “My name is Liliana Lang.”

He nodded. “Did my wife assault you?”

“Um...” Liliana hesitated.

“Are you deaf? I'm speaking to you.” Shangley glared again.

Liliana looked down and said in a small voice. “I explained the situation to Mrs. Shulz. She lost her composure and slapped me.”

“If you understood the situation, why would she lose control and slap you?” Shangley asked coldly.

“Um...” Liliana was confused.

“Shouldn't you reflect on your own negligence?

You neglected to do your duty, and it was the cause of this unfortunate incident.”

“I-L.” Liliana stammered.

At the same time, the crowd stared at Nathan in wonder.

Shangley's expression turned ugly. “You brat, what are you talking about? I've yet to get even with you for hitting my wife, and you're boasting about getting me fired?”

“Do you even have the authority to do so?” he sneered.

Nathan ignored Shangley completely. Then, he dialed the number of Shangley's superior, who happened to be the new mayor of Channing -Vernon John.

Mr. Vernon's secretary picked up and answered the call, “Good day. The mayor is at a meeting right now. This is his secretary speaking. What can I do for you?”

“Tell the mayor that he's got half an hour to get to Gemband Park and meet me here,” Nathan said as he hung up.

The crowd was deathly silent. Meanwhile,

Shangley and his men roared with laughter.

“Haha! This fool thinks that he has the power to summon the mayor to him! Who does he think he is, the Chief Military Governor? We'll just wait to see how his joke turns out.”
