However, he didn’t seem to have the strength to take it.
The phantom said in her calm voice, “I didn’t expect this sword to be hidden in such a place.”
After that, the woman grabbed the sword and turned it into a three feet blade. It was ancient yet simple, a rather magnificent design. There were odd carvings on the side, which made it look even cooler. It even sounded quite pleasant as it slashed through the air.
“Ah… What a pity…” The phantom sighed as she looked at the sword.
The monk asked, “What’s a pity?”
“The fact that it would have to slay a piece of trash moments after it was brought to light”
‘Uhm…’
‘Is she referring to me?’
The monk froze, then felt extremely insulted. After all, he was one of the famous powerful gods back then. He had even become an Immortal Monarch at present time. Not many could stand a chance against him.
“Such big talk. Aren’t you just a mere wandering soul? You don’t have any roots, let alone a body. Yet you dare to speak to me this disrespectfully? Alright then, I shall swallow you whole!”
“Yavda Dragon God, swallow!”
A black dragon tattoo appeared on the monk’s back, along with a faint form of an actual dragon behind him. Then, the entire area started shaking as a black hole formed before him, swallowing everything in its way. However, the phantom swung the sword lightly, shattering all this as if it were just a dream. The monk died instantly.
After that, the phantom brought the sword with her and turned into a ray of light, dashing through the thirty-six corpses swiftly.
Peace was once again restored in this world.
The monk died, whereas the corpses returned to being mere corpses.
On the other hand, the phantom was still holding the sword. She was floating silently in the air, staring into the distance. No one knew what she was looking at, nor what she was thinking about.
As Neela returned to her human form, Alex held her and Frostine in his arms, slightly worried.
Neela hugged him. “That’s great, Sir! Since your past self is a woman, she might not be interested in your body, so she probably wouldn’t take over. When she comes out next time, we can look for a suitable body for her.”
“I think yours is pretty fine. Would you like to lend me that?” A voice chimed in their conversation, who was obviously Alex’s past self.
Upon hearing this, Neela shut her mouth up and fell silent.
Alex had quite a lot of questions as well. However, he was worried that she might change her mind and take over his body. Hence, he decided to leave her be to give himself one less thing to worry about.
“Sir!” Hermione rushed over, visibly excited. “I knew that you could change our fates, Sir! You’re invincible after all!”
‘My hope didn’t die out. I can still rely on him!’ She thought.
The members of the Plenilune Sect viewed Alex as some type of god as well. Since the phantom came out of his body, they naturally thought she was just one of his skills.
“Senior, our sect has three treasuries. We’ll bring you over to them now!”
