Alex wanted to check out the Yavda monk’s corpse to see if there’s anything useful on him.
Considering he was an Immortal Monarch now, he rnight’ve been even stronger back in his days. He was most likely quite powerful back when the power of laws was still perfectly balanced.
If Alex could get his hands on his storage ring, he knew that he’d gain quite a few powerful items. However, Alex scanned the area with his divine conscience repeatedly, yet still couldn’t find anything related to the monk. It was as if the phantom managed to wipe the monk’s existence off of this world, along with all his things.
‘Uh..?’
‘And the way to enter the Phoenix Sect Sanctuary…’
That was out of consideration as well. Hence, he figured that it was best to find the teleportation circle himself. It was fortunate that he wasn’t in a hurry to enter the sanctuary. With the Chaos Tree, he seemed to have found another way instead. The Chaos Tree was able to purify the impurities within the power of laws, turning them into completely pure energy… Using this, he wouldn’t need to find the sanctuary.
Besides, the people around him could give a hand in this as well.
Alex then followed the members of the Plenilune Sect to the treasuries, only to be disappointed.
The most valuable item in the treasuries was just some herbs with spiritual energy. Although he still managed to obtain quite a few rare herbs from this, nothing else in the treasuries could excite him at all.
The manager of the last treasury was an old lady who had a hunched back.
She sighed. “We, the Plenilune Sect, used to be a traditional herb business. Our business was bustling and earning quite a lot of profit as well. We never had to worry about spiritual stones.
“Some of our elders even mentioned that our founders had the power to understand heaven and earth. All of them had the blood of mythical beasts as well. Some awakened the supernatural power to smell. They were able to identify spiritual herbs that were within a hundred-mile radius too.”
When the old lady said this, she seemed pretty proud, but this expression did not last long.
“It’s a shame that the Plenilune Sect started worsening ever since ancient times. We had fewer and fewer people that had the blood of mythical beasts. In the end, they became extinct as well. Hence, no one was able to master the martial arts of our sect.”
“The Plenilune Sect went from being an elite clan to a complete joke now. A joke, really! We can’t even keep our treasury safe now…”
“… Are you trying to guess my age? Humph, I won’t be revealing anything to you. Take the herbs and leave. Don’t act all nice when you’re just trying to benefit from this place. Back in my day, I could’ve squashed you younglings with one hand alone…”
Alex was stunned by her response. ‘Old lady, you’re boasting a little too much there.’
‘If you really were that powerful, why would the Plenilune Sect end up like this? Not only was the sect master killed, someone had to substitute as a fake while keeping this from everyone else.’
Just then, Neela rushed over with Pros tine in her arms. When Alex was checking the treasuries out, he told Neela and Hermione to watch over Frostine.
“Sir, Sir, please take a look at her. She seems a little off. It’s like her blood is boiling like hot water. She even has steam coming out of her nose and mouth. This is probably the consequence of bloodline induced blood sacrifice.”
“She’s in critical condition!” Alex instantly felt his chest tighten.
He immediately picked Frostine up and swept the porcelain tea set off the table before carefully placing Frostine down.
