Mystic Maiden was shocked because she needed three months to be able to perfect this skill. It was mainly due to her soul being abnormally stronger than most.
‘How could he do that?’
‘Could his soul be stronger than mine?’
Since she was currently a green skeleton, there weren’t any muscles on her face. Hence, no one knew what her expressions were. In reality, the fact that her soul was below her own servant’s embarrassed Mystic Maiden.
“Arghhhh!”
“Boss, please boss! Stop hitting me! My bones are breaking! I’m a casualty…” Pigsy oinked in pain, unable to bear it any longer.
Alex‘s attacks were heavy, letting out a loud thud every time he hit the bone. It was absolutely unbearable. In the end, Alex was satisfied. The frustration from being stomped on had finally faded.
Mystic Maiden asked, “You were able to connect your soul to your bones. How did you do that?”
Alex brushed it off. “Hey, is it really that hard? Isn’t this just basic instinct? It’s like… The need to drink and pee?”
Mystic Maiden was speechless.
‘I can’t even start a normal conversation with him now. He made it sound like we‘re idiots.’
“Where’s my wife?” Alex demanded.
He didn’t see anyone else in this cave, apart from Pigsy.
Pigsy replied, “Hunting. We haven’t had a good meal in days. If this keeps up, we might starve to death.”
Alex’s mouth dropped open, staring at his empty stomach within its skeleton.
“Are you for real?”
“Just look at you, you don’t even have a stomach. How can you eat?”
An hour or two later, Alex felt his anxiousness rising. Just then, noises came from outside of the cave. It seemed someone was here. The people turned out to be Daya, Ynes, Shirley, and Channing, the ones who had gone out to hunt.
As expected, the four of them were here too. Seeing another skeleton in the cave, the four were first shocked before realizing that it was Alex.
“Darling?!” Daya yelled.
Alex smiled and nodded. “It is me!”
She immediately rushed over to give him a big hug. It was a rather intriguing sensation.
Since they were both skeletons, crackling sounds came from their bones colliding with each other. It didn’t feel as nice as when they were normally hugging. Instead, it felt like the time the two were synchronizing during the concert. This was because their soul power was wrapped around their bones, equivalent to their souls coming in direct contact.
“I thought I’d never see you again,” Daya cried with emotion, her soul power wavering.
“I didn’t expect to be two years late either. It must’ve been hard on you.”
