He was looking for the Emperor. Finally, he found the lonely silhouette of the Emperor in a corner… No one was guarding him. Like an unloved child, he was left alone in a corner.
‘Then it shouldn’t be difficult rescuing the Emperor?’ Alex blinked as he thought.
However, just as he was thinking of how to attract the attention of his enemies, an elder of Rakshasa Temple said, “Alex, you’re finally here. We’ve waited for a long time. Alright then, you may leave now, Emperor of America.”
“Huh?” Alex and Jade were both stunned.
‘The Emperor was saved… Just like that?’
‘Wouldn’t that… Be too easy?’
Alex and Jade didn’t even have to help the Emperor up. With a wave of the hand, the elder sent the Emperor up in the air, then threw him off the platform.
“Your majesty!” Jade screamed, immediately rushing forward to catch him.
Only then did she notice that the ground beneath her feet had become gooey like mud, trapping her in. She couldn’t even jump up, much less fly away.
At such a critical moment, a golden light flashed through the sky. Xerxes’ golden bamboo boat had dashed here in time and caught the falling Emperor.
At the same time, he shouted loudly, “Jade, quick, run!”
Unfortunately, she couldn’t escape.
Gilbert had led the Flying Eagles here. They’d prepared weapons, the latest snipers that could shoot highly destructive missiles. They targeted the people on the platform, waiting to fire upon their commander’s order. However, Alex and Jade still hadn’t escaped.
“I think something’s wrong!”
“They seemed to be trapped. They can’t move their feet!”
“The men of Rakshasa Temple are getting closer. What do we do?”
Four missiles were shot consecutively, but the ending was still, unfortunately, the same.
The tactician, Eleanor, shook her head. “This is the formation of Terra Mountain Dojo, used to keep out experts of divinity. The weapons of mortals won’t work on it.”
Xerxes said, “Think of something else then! Are we supposed to watch them getting killed?”
The tactician was speechless. She was just a tactician, not god, and she simply couldn’t find a way out of a dead end. Thus, they could only gather around the barrier and watch the people inside.
Alex, who was on the Fuzen Tower, asked, “Who’s the master of the Returning Sword Sect? Please come out.”
After a few seconds, Jeremy stepped forward. “That would be me.”
Alex glanced in his direction. “Oh, so it’s you. I just wanted to ask, I’ve given your sect a deadline to do what I’ve asked, and your time’s almost up. Why haven’t you headed to the entrance of the Thousand Miles Conglomerate to beg for mercy?”
