Alex nodded. “Can’t you?”
Jade brushed her bangs aside like an embarrassed little girl. “I don’t think this is a universal ancient language.”
“It is.”
“Quit lying. I know more than half of them.”
“It’s like our language now. There’s the simplified version and the traditional version. According to the era, there are other differences, such as the oracle bone script, bronze script, or a small seal script. This was the writing used during the Middle Bronze Ages.”
Jade’s pretty eyes blinked awkwardly as she felt her face heat up. Her disciple, of all people, was teaching her about different writings.
“What does it say?”
“Hmm, it’s like classical literature. Let me translate for you. It says… Gaea was envious that the Grand Priest could command all the demons. But in contrast, she was slowly losing her status and powers.”
“She was no longer a necessity to the demons. In order to regain her place as queen of demons and her control of them, she planned and led the Fuzen War intending to extinguish the Siepata and the priest.”
Jade butted in, “Then what Andariel said was all true?”
Alex said, “Probably! There’s mention of the three demons of Xavion Tomb here too. The misbehavior of Andariel and the others during the Middle Bronze Age and how they persuaded the Emperor to act cruelly were all planned. It was so that the Emperor would lose the people’s trust.”
“War could be then triggered easily, and the Siepata would be sacrificed in the process too. Finally, Gaea would regain the power of all demons, while Andariel and her sisters would become her scapegoats.”
As he continued reading further, Alex finally found what he was looking for.
“The Heaven’s Mark!”
“So the Heaven’s Mark really exists. According to that, it‘s three hundred miles from here. Peacock Heavenly King plans to risk destroying most of his soul by escaping through Heaven’s Mark, and when the time is right, he will come back to take control of this tower.”
“It’s signed by the Peacock Heavenly King, Yu…”
Alex’s eyes glared widely in disbelief as he read until the sign. “Yuno? The Peacock Heavenly King’s name is Yuno?”
Jade questioned. “What’s wrong with that name? You know her?”
Jade was stunned and obviously didn’t believe Alex. No one in the world could possibly have three thousand golden cores. She would’ve believed him more if he said that he had three thousand eggs.
Nonetheless, she used her Chi to look inside Alex’s body and had a clear view as Alex spun his golden cores around for her to see.
“Do you really have three thousand golden cores?”
“Are you still human at this point?”
Alex said, “Right back at you, you’re not human either! You’re a titan! Speaking of titans, the first thing that comes to my mind is a gorilla…”
“Do you have a death wish?”
“Ouch…”
Jade kicked Alex tens of meters away and landed in the ruins. As he crawled back up, he had something in his hand. It was a box.
“Huh, what’s this?”
