Looking at Hayley’s distinct and dynamic eyes that were filled with innocence and playfulness, Alex seemed to have returned to that innocent, youthful era.
She walked up to him while wearing a skirt and flinging her ponytail. And he liked to follow behind her and watch her fluttering hair. He would occasionally glance at her budding waist and butt but was already displaying a woman’s charm. Sometimes, he would fantasize about going to the same university together, becoming close to her to the point of being inseparable. He liked watching her irritated and pouting look. He liked hearing her gentle reprimand.
“Hey… Did you stay up all night playing games again last night?”
“Your eyes look like a panda’s. They are so ugly. This eye cream doesn’t suit me. Help me use it up!”
“Alex, I don’t know who dropped this bouquet here. Help me throw it away. Doesn’t that person know I’m allergic to flowers?”
Thinking about it, his eyes were red-rimmed.
“Hey! Alex, you jerk If you don’t pay attention to the lesson, you can only attend a diploma mill and get a job that doesn’t pay much after graduation.”
“Alex, you jerk. Help me up…”
“Hey. I’m calling out to you, yet you pretend to be deaf…”
“Alex Rockefeller, you blockhead…”
‘Huh? Weren’t they memories? Oh, it’s real. Hayley Hanson is really calling out to me…’
“Oh, oh. Hayley, I’ll pull you up right away!” Alex, who had come to realize, saw Hayley stretching out her fair, beautiful hands in the coffin. He carefully grabbed her and gently pulled her up.
She still looked like that maiden in the dusk. She was still bright-eyed.
“Long time no see!”
“Long time… No see!”
“Heh. You’ve grown so tall! You still look so ugly with your crying face!” Hayley compared their heights. Alex was now a head taller than her.
“Give me a hand!”
She stepped out of the coffin while holding Alex’s hand. After looking around, she said, “Let’s leave this place first. I don’t like this place.”
“Alright!”
They left the blood pool.
Looking at her, Alex asked, “Don’t you find it strange? Do you have no questions to ask me?”
Hayley took the black pantyhose with a smile. “Turn your back and don’t peek.”
Alex turned around, then said, “I’ll wait for you outside!”
“No!” She suddenly screamed, “Don’t go! I’m scared! I’m afraid that I won’t see you!”
Alex suddenly stopped in his tracks. He nodded vigorously. “Alright. I won’t leave.”
The voice trembled lightly. Then, the rustling sound of changing clothes was heard behind him.
Alex just stood there without the intention to peek in the slightest. He just felt sore in his nose and was overwhelmed.
“It’s done! You can turn around!”
Wearing a beige skirt, she was young and pretty. Her hair was tied into a high ponytail with a bow. Her skirt only reached the middle of her thighs, and her slender, beautiful legs were covered with black pantyhose. She was slim with a bit of youthfulness and sexiness. She then playfully spun around in place with her white leather shoes.
Just like decades ago, after they walked out of the high school gate, she got on Alex’s bicycle and jabbered in his ear.
“Do I look good?”
