Once I was given the okay by the doctor, I left my bed.and sought to find the leader of the intelligence team, Jane. I still hadn’t done what I’d been aiming to do.

With her help, we were able to track Jack’s trail to the edge of the forest region that oversaw of the pack. 

Taking the team with me, we headed there. a part of me desperate to see what had become of Jake.

“What the hell.” Jane had a look of disgust on her face as she watched him. 

That wasn’t the only thing that had changed about him. In such a short period of time, he’d gone from being the Alpha of the pack that usually donned on the highest quality suits to a big–belied, chubby, middle–aged looking man. 

The fact that he walked around the forest without a shirt too said a lot. I couldn’t help the disgust that ran through me. 

It made me sick to my stomach the longer I continued to watch the video. This was the man I’d been married to for five whole years. 

“We have to be extremely discreet about this.” I said to Jane who listened attentively to me. 

She nodded her head and put the mask over her nose and mouth. I did the same with mine and we slowly inched closer to the building that served as a 

cover for us. 

So far so good, we’d managed to infiltrate Jack’s little neighbourhood. No one had sighed us just yet so I took that as a good sign to keep moving 

forward. 

“Keep your senses on alert. We can’t let anyone find out we’re here.” I said to Jane.

I turned to her and let out a sigh. “Get this straight. Computer code and binaries can’t replace our senses. That’s a fact that won’t be changed for years 

to come so get it right.” 

“Oh I highly doubt that.” Jane crouched closer to me, a small phone in her hand which she scrolled through. 

“See?” She shoved the phone in my face. “This helps me track the heat signatures of everyone here. We’d know if someone was trying to sneak up on us while we’re taking cover here.” 

As awesome as that sounded, I wasn’t the slightest bit impressed. She could use all her fancy gadgets but none of them would beat the innate senses of a werewolf.
