At the thought of this, Jessica fished out the appointment slip for her scheduled abortion. She snapped a picture of it and sent it to Casper.

When Casper saw Jessica's text and clicked on the picture. The blood drained from his face as he hurriedly texted her back, "Don't you want our baby?"

He was trembling, and his mind was blank. He wired all the money he had to Jessica's account and sent her another text, "I know the money isn't much and barely covers your expenses, but I promise I'll work hard. Please don't get rid of the baby."

After reading Casper's frantic texts, Jessica felt a weight being lifted off her chest. As it turned out, someone out there still loved her—she was still desirable.

She returned Casper the money and replied, "I pissed off Steven a while ago, and he cut me off, so I scheduled an abortion just to scare him."

A lump had formed in Casper's throat when he saw that Jessica had returned the money, but he heaved a sigh of relief after reading her text. She continued, "I would never get rid of our baby. The baby is a symbol of our love, after all."

Casper's features softened. Scrolling through their previous texts, he realized that Jessica would only use the baby as leverage against Steven whenever she needed money.

If Casper had the money, Jessica would never have to resort to blackmailing others for it. He vowed solemnly through his text, "Would you consider remarrying me after I wrap up this project? I promise I won't let you live on the edge of a knife, worried you'd be abandoned and cut off at any given moment."

Jessica's lips curled. From the looks of it, Casper had forgiven her. She replied, "Sure."

Meanwhile, Jessica combed through her previous conversations with Casper and screenshotted those that showed the latter's love for her. She then sent the screenshots to Zane.

She wrote, "Casper might be my ex-husband, but he's happy to give me money, which is more than I can say for Annalise's ex-husband. All Steven does is run his mouth and tell her how much he loves her, but the truth is that he only ever hurts her."

The more she typed, the more she was convinced she was right. "But Steven can be generous. He certainly wasn't stingy with the allowance he gave me, which only goes to show that I am worthy of his love."
