All eyes turned to the tied up lady who was still in fright of what had happened.

Slowly, Jaxon rushed to her and helped untie her in a quick pace.

Melanie fell to her knees as she breath heavily, still her mind does not comprehend whatever that was going on.

It was still a cliche to her.

No, Ryker just gave up his throne for Cole.

It can't be...she quickly look up only to be met with those cold eyes of his that pierced at her, he was already walking towards her in a hurry.

He looked majestic get fierce and utterly cold.

As he reached her she quickly shifted back in a crawl, she knew that she can never let her cover blow, or else that will be the end of her, she didnt want to die just yet.

"Melanie... Are you hurt? "

He asked softly and tried to take her hands in his but she crawled back again, sparing him a disgusted contempt look.

Ryker was baffled, why was she staring at him as if she does not know him at all?

"no... Don't come near me I beg you!  I still can't imagine what has just happened, but please do not make it any hard for me to pull myself together!"

She cried and he became more confused.

"I was only on a vacation with my family!  I don't know what you people are, are you even humans!  Of course not, I don't believe aliens actually exist untill now! Just let me go please! "

She cried more and Ryker sighed as he thought deep on why she was behaving that way.

Was she pretending or did she loose her memory.

Or it could be that she isn't Melanie at all!

No, he just couldn't believe it was not her, he felt the familiarity the moment he saw her.

"stop pretending Melanie.

It's okay now, you don't have to hide from me anymore! "

He snapped and tried holding her hands forcefully but she yanked it off and stood up quickly.

She ran towards the exit of the garden in a swift and no one tried to stop her, not even Ryker.

And she was glad he didn't,she wanted no more trouble than the one she had already encountered and wanted some time to herself.

She began running in the highest speed she had and her body could handle at the moment, her body grazed through bushes and her clothes were getting thorned slowly but she didn't stop.

She couldn't use her powers even if she wanted because it will get her into more trouble.

Suddenly Latisha flew down towards her and stopped right in front of her face making her come to a jerking stop.

"why did you scare me like this? We can't be seen together,or else my cover will be blown.

You go, I'll call you later.

I just need to think of what I'm supposed to do next! "

She said as tried to start running again but Latisha stepped in front of her face again.

She groaned.

"what's you problem young lady? "

She snapped.

"come with me! "

The firebird said and began flying away again.

Melanie hesitated before taking the same road that Latisha had taken,as soon as they were sure that they were out of the boundaries of the pack and can't be seen easily Melanie swiftly shifted into her large phoenix.

It took her a lot of effort to shift though because she hasn't shifted in a long very long time and that had affected her and made shifting very painful for her..

They soon began flying towards the east side of the large jungle.

Melanie didn't do anything and just followed wherever Latisha was going.

They flew for hours without a stop.

Softly the firebird swooned down and dived the trees, trying to avoid them from touching her feathers, Melanie was right behind her, following the same exact place her firebird follows.

They landed on a soft grass and Melanie quickly shifted into her human form.

"what are we doing here? This is the gateway to the w immortal world,, your not trying to aske to go in there are you? "

Melanie snapped with fear in her voice, she didn't want to go in there at all, she wasn't dead and doesn't want to die yet, she got just a last chance to live and the the firebird wants her to go in, no way!

"stop making a fuss dear.  I'm not asking you to go in there, I just brought you here because the gatekeeper to the immortal realm asked for an audience with you.

Just put only but your right palms into the portal and close your eyes.

Do not go in, I repeat do not go in! "

Latisha said and Melanie breath out in relief.

She then proceeded to place her palm on the portal slowly, her eyes went shut next.

She was in a trance for a long time and all she could see was black  untill a ray of light appeared.

Then slowly a woman appeared in a white garment, it happened to be the woman who refused to let Melanie into the immortal world.

Fear gripped her, Latisha said she wasn't going to go to the immortal  world, why is the woman here?

"congratulations phoenix, on successfully completing the task your grandmother had handed over to you, and successfully completing yours also, your good deeds have brought her peace and she now dweals in the immortal realm along with other worthy hearts. "

The old lady said and Melanie's eyes widened.

"but i didn't do anything! How comes my task is completed?"

She asked and the woman smiled.

"you didn't have to do anything, you have a mate who cares about you more than his own self.

He has give up the throne he cherished most to save you and the people from chaos.

That shows how sincere he is to you, your grandmother had told you earlier that you need him to be able to complete your task.

What is the essence of having a mate? It's not just for the purpose of having a pup and leaving together as one.
