As we stepped into the ballroom jace whispered to me, "Smile and stay with me all night i hope i am clear" He says in a hushed tone

"Yes Jace" I muttered as we walked in fully, This was my first time going to an event like this and I was blown away but how beautiful the entire place looked like. I wasn't going to lie, Jace's designer did an amazing job on my dress and the stylist did an impeccable job too, I mean looked even prettier than some people here.

We walked towards a couple of our ages and Jace introduced me

"Kimberly meet Amelia and Noah" He said and I smiled at the two couples

"Hello Amelia and Noah its a pleasure to meet you" i said and smiled and nodded to Noah.

The guys got talking and I excused myself to go to the restroom.

As soon as i was done i came back looking for Jace but couldn't see him, I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, I know I wasn't gone that long so what was the problem exactly? I sighed Amelia and Noah and I walked towards them

"Hi Amelia, please have you seen Jace around?" I asked her

"He went outside some few minutes ago so he should be outside " She responded with a smile on her face, I smiled back at her and proceeded to check outside for him

What was he doing outside in the first place, Wasn't he the one telling me not to leave his side just now

I walked but couldn't find him anywhere, It was as though he vanished. I groaned internally and brought out my phone to call him

Just as I did that, I turned to go back in my I stopped dead in my tracks, My heart broke into a million pieces, There he was locking lips with someone else, He was locking lips with a blonde woman's who I couldn't recognize, I couldn't believe what i was witnessing

Jace was kissing a lad

I felt stupid for giving my body so freely to him, This was why he stopped coming home, This was why he avoided all through, This was the reason! Tears burned my eyes but I blinked them back. I wasn't about to have a breakdown here in front of all these people, I wasn't going to embarrass myself because of him

I swallowed the lump in my throat and looked the other way, After getting myself I turned again

"I'm sorry to interrupt you Jace!" I said in a cold tone, He turned immediately and i could see the shock in his face, the blonde beside him stood there with a smile plastered on her face

"You must be Kim, jace has told me a lot about you" she said sweetly that I couldn't detect if she was just being nice or sarcastic "Oh has he now? I trust they're all good things!" I replied her while looking at jace

" I'm really sorry to have interrupted you and Jace but Actually I am not feeling so well i was wondering if I could leave early" I asked with a straight face.

"Okay Kim I'll come with you" He rushed out but it was too late, I had seen everything and what he thought of me, I'll be damned if I stay in the same place as he right now

"No, You don't have to! Please stay here with her and don't bother about me, I'll see you later" I said and walked away from them, I quickly located the parking lot and got into the car

"You would come back here for Jace as he is still here!" I told the driver but heard the door lock, He got in right after me

"You don't have to anymore!" I said and looked out the window as the driver starts to drive

The ride back home was unbearable quiet as a lot of things ran through my mind, I stayed quiet all through the ride

How could i have fallen so low
