During the party, Jayden, Christian, and Nicholas stepped out onto the balcony to talk privately. “Wow….who would’ve thought something that seemed so simple could get this crazy?” Jayden sighed. 

“Definitely,” Christian agreed. “I’m trying to stay calm, but I’m actually pretty scared. A lot of lawyers have disappeared when their cases crossed paths with that guy. And I… I can’t bear the thought of something happening to Caroline.” 

“Is that why you rushed to buy the house?” Nicholas asked, raising an eyebrow. 

“Yes, the security here convinced me.” 

“Relax, buddy,” Jayden said. “I doubt he’d risk attacking one of my properties. My family has the resources to play this game of war with his group for a long time.” 

“Even so, Jayden, don’t take any unnecessary risks,” Christian urged. 

“Don’t worry, I know how to take care of myself and-“Jayden stifled a yawn. “Well, it’s getting late,” he 

said. 

“You’ve caught the pregnancy symptoms, huh?” Nicholas joked, noticing Deborah had also yawned. 

“Hehe, I’m already looking forward to syncing up with my Carrie.” 

“You two have been taking your sweet time.” 

“Well, now that things are stable, I’ll talk to her about having our first baby. That way, James will have a friend in the near future.” 

“Or a girlfriend,” Jayden added, amused. 

“Well, I think the party is just about over. Tomorrow will be a tough day since we’re interrogating that idiot,” Nicholas said seriously. 

“Keep me updated. I won’t be able to join because I have an important project at the company.” Jayden said, frustrated. 

“Don’t worry, we’ll keep you in the loop, and I’ll investigate what you asked me to,” Christian assured him. 

With that, they returned inside, and after a few more minutes, the party ended, and each guest headed home to rest. 

The next morning, Jayden and Deborah had their usual breakfast together. 

“So, what are your plans for today?” he asked Deborah 

[I think I’ll be working all morning. I have to help Mr. John with his invoices.] 

“So you’ll have a busy morning 

[Yes. I’m trying to get ahead of my work since Caroline will be busy with her mom and mother–in–law with the move. I’ll help her settle everything in the house tomorrow.]
