Marie stormed out of the venue, fuming as she headed straight to the parking lot where a black SUV was waiting for her. 

“Miss, how-” began an older man as he opened the car door for her. 

“Shut up and drive!” she screamed at her chauffeur, shoving him aside before getting into the vehicle. 

The chauffeur merely grimaced and complied, knowing that meant things had gone badly. 

Marie pulled out her phone from her bag and began typing a message. 

“Stupid… how dare she steal my man? The Cooper fortune is mine… I was Jayden’s girlfriend first,” she seethed as she tapped angrily on her phone screen. “Tch.. damn it, why did my mother have to get all high and mighty and divorce Dad over that little slip with the secretary…” she muttered to herself, frustrated. All her plans had fallen apart because she lost contact with Jayden and he seemed to have forgotten her completely–something she was not about to accept easily. 

Then she saw that her message had been replied to, making her smile as she read it. 

“Um.. Miss, where to…?” 

“Isn’t it obvious? Take me home, you idiot. Tch… why even ask? I’m not walking the streets in this expensive dress just for it to get ruined.” 

The older man only grimaced and decided not to speak further. 

Marie arrived home and quickly changed her clothes before heading back out to meet her new allies and find out more about this Deborah floozy. The big problem, however, was that Jayden’s mother had already accepted her into the family. 

Her chauffeur drove her to one of those new, small cafés, as she didn’t want anyone to recognize her and interrupt her. Besides, she was finally going to meet that blond and the old lady she planned to use to remove Deborah from the picture. 

“So, you’re the one from the letter?” Sophia asked as the redhead took her seat at the table. 

“That’s right, and I don’t care who you are. I just want you to tell me everything about this Deborah because I want to destroy her and get her away from my man and his money.” 

Isabelle and Sophia smiled at each other as they began chatting with the Marie. 

Meanwhile, Deborah had briefly forgotten about the horrible incident with that woman as she was reviewing the results from the big event. 

Certainly, some made money, others lost… but public opinion was very positive because the advisors. working at the firm were very friendly and had explained in simple terms how to play the stock buying and selling game 

That was good because it meant that the day had increased the client portfolio she would now be handling.

It was then that James started fussing and began to cry. 

“Yes, love, we’re going home now,” Deborah said, noticing the little one starting to complain because he was tired and hungry. 

“Here.” Nicholas pulled out some items from the diaper bag and prepared some milk for the baby. 

“Thanks, Dad. Look, James, here it is,” she said, taking the bottle and bringing it to her little one’s mouth. James eagerly grabbed the bottle and started drinking the white liquid. 

“Debbie-” Jayden came over and placed a bib on his son to keep his clothes clean, 

“If you want, I’ll stay to say goodbye to the guests, so you two take my grandson to his bed,” he said. 

“Thanks, Dad.” 

“We’ll stay and help too,” Samantha said. 

“In that case, come on, bosses,” Danielle said, grabbing the diaper bag. 

Jayden and Deborah said their goodbyes and headed toward the exit to go home. 

Máximo went ahead to get the car and park it at the entrance. 

“Today I can handle more,” Jayden said, opening the car door and helping his partner into the vehicle. 

“It’s just that I was excited,” she said, wiping the sweat from the baby’s forehead with a cloth. “Once we get home, I’ll give him a bath so he can sleep comfortably.” 

Jayden smiled at the interaction. 

The drive was short, and upon arriving home, they bid farewell to the siblings and took James straight to his room for a bath before putting him to sleep. 

When he had fallen asleep, Deborah seized the moment to talk to Jayden. 

“So now, can you tell me what all that was about?” she asked, looking him in the eye. 

“What do you mean, love?” 

“Who was that woman?” 

“Um… well, now that she mentioned her name, I think she’s my ex–girlfriend from when I was a teenager.”
