“Okay, Chip, wait,” Deborah said, amused, petting the cat before placing her beside her. 

“She’s a demanding girl,” Nicholas observed. 

“Very much so.” 

“And let me guess, Felix is with you too,” Nicholas said Hearing his name, the little dog stood on his hind legs to peek at the table. 

Felix barked at Nicholas in greeting, wagging his tail. 

“You called him,” Deborah said, laughing as she stroked the puppy’s head. 

“Mommy!” They then heard the kids shouting as they ran to hug her and kiss her on the cheek.

about me?” Nicholas joked at the sight. 

“Hi, Grandpa, Elizabeth said, blowing him a kiss. 

“Hi, Grandpa.” 

“How was school?” Nicholas asked. 

“Good,” they replied together. 

“Excellent, keep getting those straight A’s,” he said, listening to his grandkids laugh. “Well, I’ll let you go eat while I keep working here,” he said, showing the folders next to him. 

“Okay, Dad, don’t overwork yourself, and don’t forget to eat.”
