Belle’s eyes filled with rage when she heard Felix’s words. She staggered a few steps back, suddenly understanding everything. 

All the previous incidents in which she thought Felix was involved now made complete sense. It also made sense now that Hunter had sent his deputy to deal with this matter. 

“Miracle doctor! Felix is the miracle doctor’s student. The person Lady Summers has tirelessly searched for… turns out to be a rural doctor we all looked down on! What a joke!” Belle laughed. 

She began to act weirdly, crying and laughing at the same time. She muttered to herself nonstop, causing Leia to frown. 

It was clear that the shock had gotten to her mind. 

Outside, Felix walked calmly, just in time to see Xena approaching from the side. Their eyes met for a brief moment, but neither said a word as they continued in their respective directions. 

“Felix has been released?” 

A terrible foreboding swelled in Xena’s chest. She quickened her steps. 

She had rushed back using a fighter jet. She couldn’t tell the reason, but she felt that Belle arresting Felix this time would spiral out of control. Now, it seemed her fears were based. 

Or else, how could Felix have been freed before she even showed up? She had even sent Bradley away. It made the situation harder to justify. 

As Xena approached her office, Leia walked out with Belle. 

“Leia?” 

Xena was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Lela to be here. 

“Lady Summers, you’ve returned rather quickly.” 

Xena looked at Belle, whose expression made it clear she had lost her mind. 

“What happened to Belle?” 

Without even glancing at Belle, Leia replied calmly, “We received a report that Belle abused her power and misjudged things. Given the sensitivity of her position, Mr. Downy ordered me to handle the matter personally. 

“I apologize for not informing you beforehand, Lady Summers.

Xena’s expression grew conflicted. Belle had been with her for a long time, and she had treated her like family. To see someone she was so close to become so unrecognizable overnight was painful. 

“I’ll be taking a few others along with Belle. I will send you a report by tomorrow,” Leia said before turning to leave with Belle. 

Xena stood rooted in place, watching them leave, unable to say a word. 

It was obvious now. Belle had orchestrated Felix’s arrest with made–up or insufficient evidence.
