George had murmured under his breath, which piqued Felix’s interest. Indeed, for the first time, no one in the entire hall placed a counterbid, proving that George had not been exaggerating. 

“30 million dollars,” the electronically–altered voice from earlier announced. It was done. to protect the identity of those in the private boxes. 

Knowing the drill, the auctioneer did not wait for another bid and immediately brought the hammer down. He declared, “Sold for 30 million dollars! Congratulations!” 

Even though Nala could have easily won with a casual bid of a few hundred thousand, she chose to pay a respectable amount. It spoke volumes about her wealth and integrity. 

“Still think you have a shot at Item 18?” George persisted, trying to dissuade Felix from challenging Nala as he was unaware of just how crucial Moon’s Tear was to him. 

“We’ll see. I think I know what Lady Nala is up to,” Felix replied. 

George could not help but be curious and asked, “Oh? Care to share?” 

Felix explained, “Moon Dust and Moon’s Tear, combined with other rare ingredients and prepared by a skilled master healer, can create a medicinal powder with incredible skin- rejuvenating properties when added to bathwater. It’s beyond anything modern skincare can achieve.” 

George’s eyes widened in surprise. “Hold up! Are you telling me you’re a traditional medicine practitioner?” 

Felix simply nodded, not saying more. While George had a hunch that Felix was definitely someone skilled in medicine, he did not press for more details. 

As the auction progressed, item after item came and went until it was finally time for the Moon’s Tear. 

The auctioneer announced, “Next up, Item 18, Moon’s Tear. The seller has a special requirement–bidders must compete based on their connections. Whoever can present the most accomplished master healer will win. Let’s begin.” 

George sighed. “Now, you truly don’t stand a chance. Competing with Nala’s connections? Even my grandpa wouldn’t dare make that claim.” 

To George’s surprise, Felix’s lips curled into a faint smile. This method actually worked in his favor, much more so than a monetary bid would have. As expected, the room fell silent, waiting for Nala’s bid. 

“I can secure the services of Brandon Quinn, the third–ranked master healer in Dragonia,” the altered voice rang out again from Nala’s private box.
