Suddenly, Felix slapped Julia twice and yelled at her, “Listen here! Michelle is my cousin, and you’re getting off easy with just two slaps. Now get out of her!” 

No one thought Felix’s actions were rude. Instead, everyone seemed to find them justified. Even Julia had to back away with an apologetic smile–such was the difference in their social standing. 

After reaching the VIP reception room, the manager quietly excused himself while Michelle remained extremely nervous. 

“I’m sorry about earlier. I just can’t stand seeing injustice, and I was only planning to buy a villa when I saw you being bullied. That’s why I stepped in, and I hope you don’t mind that I called you my cousin,” Felix explained. 

Michelle finally relaxed at his explanation, as his words put her previous concerns at ease. “Thank you, Mr. Zeller. There aren’t many people like you these days,” she said gratefully. “Please, call me Felix. Let’s go check out the villas. If I find one I like, I’ll buy it immediately. I prefer being straightforward,” he replied. 

Michelle had already received authorization 

from the manager to sell villas. While the commission would not completely change her life, it would definitely help improve her immediate circumstances. 

Besides, this was just Felix’s first gift, and many more would come. After all, if he could not handle Karina’s request as her junior, it would reflect poorly on him. 

When the deal was closed, Michelle could hardly believe her eyes. 

“Michelle, I can tell you’re sincere. If any of my friends want to buy property, I’ll definitely recommend you,” Felix said warmly. 

Michelle was overwhelmed with gratitude. Tomorrow was her birthday, and this felt like the best early birthday gift she could ever receive. 

“Thank you, Felix. Thank you so much,” she replied earnestly. 

After leaving the sales office, Felix received a call from an unknown number. He expected it to be Gerald, but it turned out to be a courier. 

“Mr. Zeller, there’s a package for you,” the courier said. 

Felix did not think much of it at first and started to say, “I’m not in Avesburgh. Please leave it at-” 

The courier’s next words caught him off guard. “I’m in Canraville, and this package is extremely important. It must be delivered to you personally.”

Felix was surprised they knew he was in Canraville. After some thought, he gave them the address of the upscale restaurant where he was meeting Vanessa. He was curious about what could be so important it required personal delivery. 

Before long, Felix arrived at the upscale restaurant in Canraville. Though Jack had to return to Avesburgh for an emergency, Vanessa had insisted he come since he had already promised, so he planned to make a brief appearance. 

When he entered the private room, instead of finding Vanessa, he saw four people–two men and two women–playing poker. 

“Is this the room Vanessa Meyer reserved?” Felix asked.
