“What?” Robert dramatically cupped his ear, his expression exaggerated. “I don’t think I heard you correctly.” 

The woman immediately became anxious. “Felix! Nessa’s friends aren’t people you want to mess with. Please don’t add fuel to the fire–even Nessa won’t be able to smooth this over when she arrives!” 

“Thank you for your concern,” Felix replied before turning back to Robert. “But I insist—
