They sat there like that for half an hour. Finally, Nattie said, “Alright, now, Warren. Felix was a nice young man. It’s a pity that he was too inexperienced and ended up offending someone like Lord Kane. Anyway, we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to see what the situation is.” 

Warren didn’t say a word. His heart was aching terribly. How could he face his old friend, Matthew? What would Matthew be thinking as he looked down on them from above? 

At that moment, there was a familiar beeping sound. All three of them looked at the door, as it was the sound of someone entering the password for the digital door lock. However, they were the only ones who knew the password. Who would be pressing it at this hour? 

The door opened, and Felix walked in. 

Sasha’s eyes widened. “Y–You! How can it be?” 

She felt as if she was going insane. No one who provoked Kane had ever appeared again. Why would Feliz be an exception? 

Only Warren rushed over in excitement to hug Felix. “You little scamp! Do you know how worried I was?” 

Felix was touched. He knew Warren was sincere in his concern and in how well he treated him. “I’m sorry for making you worry, Uncle Warren.” 

When they broke apart, Warren was suddenly confused. “You might not know what kind of person Lord Kane is, Felix. How did you escape unscathed?” 

That was what Sasha and Nattie wanted to know, too. It was incomprehensible. 

“Well, he only came by for a couple of minutes. That Lord Kane guy looked at his phone, said he was mistaken, and left. I don’t know what was going on, either.” 

Mistaken? Sasha was furious. 

Felix really had dumb good luck. It had happened several times already! First, it was the antiques market, and now, he had slipped through Kane’s fingers. It was ridiculous! 1 

“I’m glad you’re alright. Go shower, get to bed, and let’s put this behind us.” Suddenly, Warren thought of something. “Felix, that porcelain teapot is much too expensive. Take it back.” 

The moment the subject was mentioned, both Nattie and Sasha were nervous. They didn’t dare to interrupt, because they knew it would be useless. 

“Uncle Warren, I can’t take back what I’ve gifted. Besides, it was your birthday. I got that porcelain teapot because I was lucky, so you can decide what you want to do with it.” 

Before Warren could say anything else, Felix went upstairs, and both women breathed a sigh of relief. 

Humph! Thank God Felix had been tactful. 

Perry and Ted were waiting at Kane’s manor. 

“Dad, why isn’t Lord Kane back yet? With his power, it should have only taken him a minute to deal with Felix.” 

Perry smiled and said, “What’s the rush? Lord Kane is dealing with it personally. I’m sure that nothing will go wrong.”
