When the cat arrived at the manor, both Xena and Jordan got out, and the Kinsley family immediately greeted them, “Welcome to the banquet, Lady Summers.” 

Xena nodded in response. “There’s no need to be so formal I heard that Mr. Kinsley Senior has fully recovered from his illness. After all, he did a lot of good deeds for Avesburgh back in the day. It’s only right that I come to visit him.” 

As she spoke, she extended her right hand. “This is Jordan Hall, the apprentice of Wesley Cane, who ranks fifth among the top ten master healers.” 

The crowd was somewhat astonished. Anyone who rode with the goddess of war had to be extraordinary. 

“Welcome, Mr. Hall,” the crowd greeted. 

When the group entered the front courtyard, all the guests who had already received the news were visibly excited 

didn’t dare to approach. They could only watch from afar. 

y goodness! It’s the goddess of war, Xena. I can’t believe I’m seeing her in real life. She’s so gorgeous.” Sasha’s face flushed with excitement. Xena was her idol, and she believed that living like Xena was the highest form of success for a woman. 

“She’s indeed gorgeous and graceful,” Nattie chimed in. 

After hearing Nattie’s remark, Sasha sighed. “I wonder what kind of man she’ll eventually marry.” 

Bernard, Vincent, and even Wendy were all fully aware. Xena’s move had invisibly elevated the Kinsley family’s status significantly. That was a real advantage that no one could deny. 

The pity was that it involved Felix. Otherwise, it would have been a golden opportunity for the Kinsley family to build a connection with Xena. 

The group moved on without stopping and entered the building. After all, they couldn’t leave Xena standing outside under everyone’s gaze. 

As they walked, a door ahead of them opened, and Felix appeared. He had come out to find a restroom because of an urgent need. Unexpectedly, he ran into the very person he least wanted to see. 

With their gazes already fixed on each other, he could only stride confidently toward her. 

Although the corridor was quite wide, it appeared cramped because of the large entourage with Xena and several bodyguards. 

One of the bodyguards gave Felix a fierce glare. Seeing that the latter continued to advance, the bodyguard immediately spoke up, “Please make way for Lady Summers.” 

However, Felix ignored the bodyguard entirely. He continued to walk without pausing, showing no sign of giving 

Way. 

“Take him down!” The bodyguard gestured with his hand. He was deeply annoyed. 

Given Felix’s actions, they had reason to suspect he had ulterior motives. Taking him down was certainly not a problem and didn’t violate any rules 

Upon seeing that, Wendy and the others looked somewhat panicked but dared not speak out.

She hadn’t expected to see Felix here and was surprised that such a rural doctor had the credentials to attend the banquet. However, given the fraud team backing him, she could see why it made sense. (1) 

As they brushed past each other, neither of them made any eye contact. They acted as if they didn’t recognize each other. 

Xena had no intention of interacting with Felix in such a public setting as it would lower her status. 

The Kinsley family felt a sense of relief. It was a false alarm in the end. Otherwise, being caught in the middle, they wouldn’t have known how to handle the situation. 

As they were passing the room where Felix had just come out, the door opened again. 

Gilbert ran out, calling out to Felix, “Dr. Zeller! I’ve made up my mind!”

Gilbert’s sudden call brought Xena to an abrupt halt. She turned to look back, and instinctively, the others followed her lead. 

A sense of dread tightened in Wendy’s chest. The shout from Gilbert felt like a harbinger of trouble. 

What could unfold now? 

Felix, however, remained unfazed. With no secrets to hide, he welcomed the opportunity for Gilbert to come to terms with the situation. 

“Let’s go inside and discuss this further,” he said. 

As Felix led Gilbert back into the dwelling, Xena’s eyes flickered with disdain. 

“Master healer? If a small doctor from the countryside could be labeled as such, then this title had lost all its value,” she thought as she continued on her path, convinced that Gilbert was another victim of Felix’s schemes. 

“People are truly amusing these days. Master healer–what a joke!” Jordan scoffed, echoing the sentiment that the title had become a mere shadow of its former self. 

Xena would have apprehended Felix long ago if it weren’t for the engagement. However, she had instructed Belle to investigate Felix’s team instead. 

Once they uncovered the truth, she would ensure that they were dealt with. 

Inside the house, Gilbert still appeared shaken. Initially focused on Felix, he turned to find a large group gathered, all members of the Kinsley family. 

He suddenly realized how rude it was of him not to acknowledge their presence. 

“Mr. Murphy, tell us. Who’s the patient here?” Felix prompted, bringing Gilbert back to reality. His face was etched with anxiety and concern. (1 

“It’s my five–year–old son.” Gilbert sighed, his voice heavy with worry. “I don’t even know if he’s truly sick.” 

This revelation came as no surprise. If the illness were treatable, Gilbert wouldn’t be in such distress. 

“Who told you that Lovefruit could cure your son’s condition?” Felix inquired. 

Gilbert offered a bitter smile.
