As Nala’s words fell, she reached up to pull off her veil, but she suddenly found that her hands refused to obey her will. 

“Leave,” Felix said flatly. 

Nala’s gaze remained fixed on him. “Why? Aren’t you even a little curious about me? They say even heroes can’t resist beauty’s charm. Are you afraid that once you see my face, you won’t be able to stop thinking about me?” 

Felix responded with a slight, dismissive smirk “Feelings come from the heart. What does appearance have to do with it? Besides, are you really Nala Hughman?” 

The question made Nala freeze momentarily. Before she could recover, Felix’s voice rang out again. 

“Go back and tell that self–righteous woman that even if she were to come here herself, I wouldn’t be the least bit interested in what lies beneath her veil.” 

With a wave of his hand, the door opened, and Nala found herself stepping backward out of the courtyard. Once outside, her body regained movement. Without a word, she turned and left. 

At Yvonne’s villa, Nala barely closed the door before her body shifted and transformed, her appearance morphing into that of a stranger. 

“Well? How did it go?” Yvonne asked, her tone sharp and impatient. 

The woman shook her head, her expression grim. 

“Not well. Felix’s strength was far beyond what I expected. Even with the Essence Elixir Lady Nala gave me, he saw through it instantly. And…” 

Yvonne frowned. “And what? Stop stalling and just say it.” 

Desperate to know everything about Felix, Yvonne leaned forward, ready to hear every detail. 

“Never mind,” the woman said after a pause. “I’ll just call Lady Nala directly and have her hear it for herself.” 

The call connected, and the woman relayed Felix’s exact words. 

“Miss, please forgive me. I’m only repeating what Felix said. ‘Go back and tell that self- righteous woman that even if she were to come here herself, I wouldn’t be the least bit interested in what lies beneath her veil.“” 

There was a brief silence on the other end before a curt response came.

Once the woman left, Yvonne stood in quiet contemplation. 

“Felix, what are you really thinking?” 

Meanwhile, in a bar in Caraville, Felix arrived to find three empty beer bottles already sitting in front of Jack 

“Damn it! Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you? You owe me three beers. We’ve got to start on equal footing, after all.” 

Without offering any excuses for being late, Felix silently downed three bottles. 

“To be honest, on my way here, I was wondering if you were pulling my leg. Now I can rest easy.”
