An older woman entered. One could tell she was a beauty when she was younger. Her lashes fluttered when she looked at Felix. 

“A–Aunt Yvette?” Falix dropped his phone out of shock when he recognized Yvette. 

When Yale staged a coup, he had taken Yvette hostage. They had to beg Averill to save 

Yvette. 

Although Felix wasn’t particularly close with Yvette, he understood that Yvette had been Cordelia’s hope. He couldn’t possibly feel nothing when he finally met Yvette in person. 

“Felix, is that really you?” Yvette dashed over and agitatedly caressed Felix’s face. Tears streamed down her cheeks. “Where were you these past few years? I looked for you a few times at Avesburgh. You rascal! You worried me so much.” 

Felix was not used to the love and care Yvette displayed. Had Yvette learned to cherish family after his parents passed away? He recalled not being that close with Yvette, though she was at least not as heartless as the Zellers. 

“I’m fine, Aunt Yvette. How are you and your family?” 

Yvette immediately said, “Everything’s in the past now. Let’s drop it because I have started a new life now.” 

Her words left him confused. Did she no longer care about her dead son? Something felt off. 

At that moment, Ronald approached them with a surprised look. He stammered, “Yvette, d -did you know Felix?” 

Felix was shell–shocked by Ronald addressing Yvette so familiarly. 

“Ah, Ronald, this is my nephew, Felix. From the sound of it, you seem to know him. Do you? 

Ronald was stumped. He never expected such a scene to unfold. He replied, “I don’t know him that well. We’ve met.” 

Yvette wasn’t dumb. She immediately announced, “Let go of any grudges between the two of you for my sake.” 

Pouting, Ronald reluctantly agreed to it, saying, “Well, if that’s what you say, Yvette. I’m fine with that.” 

He shot Bertha a glare to shut her up. 

“Aunt Yvette, I will listen to you.” Felix had already felt indebted to Yvette. Hence, willingly agreed to her request. He realized that the new life she described probably referred to her relationship with Ronald’s uncle

Ronald looked upset after Yvette and Felix left. Damn it! That Felix is surely a lucky guy, isn’t he?”
